Due to the drought, and too many tourists, the stress on the jellyfish was too much. It is closed to allow the poor critters a break and a chance, we hope, to recover.

When we visited this famous lake last May, all the large jellies had died off due to an unrelenting drought in the area. The jellies need nutrients to be washed into the lake from the surrounding hills. This had not happened due to the unrelenting...More

Due to radical changes in weather last year, most of the jelly fish died and it is currently not possible to visit. They are expected to recover again, but it may not be before 2019 according to locals. Hang in, jelly survivors!

The tour operators will not visit jellyfish lake at this time because there are no jellyfish. Given that the permit is $100 it is nice that they don't just take your money. I was disappointed as this was the top attraction I wanted to visit...More

Easy snorkeling with thousands of painless jellyfish! A bit of a hike (10 mins) up over a rocky trail and steps. Hand ropes available some of the way. 15 min boatride from Sam's Tours.

What an experience to snorkel with jellyfish in a lake. It was one of the moment once in a lifetime.
