We did a lot of snorkeling in one day. Unfortunately, the sun didn't shine upon us so the view of the ocean was a bit gloomy. However, I was amazed by all the sea creatures I got to see. August is the rain season, so...More
A must-see boat tour of these magnificent limestone islands should be included in your Palau trip. It reminds me of a time in the lagoon of my home island of Saipan when the reef and marine life was untouched and in its pristine condition was...More
The Rock Island area is just breathtaking. Take a boat ride around the island and make sure to have your camera ready. If you can, bring your snorkel gear because you're going to want to jump in the perfectly blue waters!
Friends and I rented a boat and crew from Palau Adventure Dives. We were able to see turtles, sharks and even a sea snake. The coral was so healthy and beautiful. The clarity of water was exceptional. This was the best snorkeling in Micronesia.
This is just a postcard perfect place. Such gorgeous nature as you won't find this anywhere else. So many sea creatures we saw when snorkeling, including various sharks. And had a great time swimming at milky way and visiting long beach.

Sams Tours is well known but we didn't use them for the day-trips. We used Neco Marine for a day trip. At Neco Marine, you can rent the entire boat for $600 + park fees + tour guide + lunch for 8 hours. Probably $800 total from what I recall. They'll take you to the famous spots. The boat is big enough to fit a dozen people so depending on how many people you have in your group, this could be a good deal or not.
You can also do a day-snorkeling tour. You can get up close to the islands that you can't reach by boat. We did a 4-day/3 night camping/kayaking tour. I believe Sam's can arrange either of those. But you need to book the camping/kayaking tour sooner than later. It fills up.
We rented a car and drove around the island and stopped at certain tourist spots. Driving is not an issue except the steering wheel is on the right side, and you drive on the right side of the road. The handful of beaches are private so you have to pay a fee $5-$10/person.
Peleliu is also very interesting, seeing WWII remnants. It's worth going there.
