We travelled to Palau on the Palau Aggressor II and were completely thrown under a bus. The high chief had passed in Taiwan on the 3rd of November and we arrived on the 8th of November. We were not informed that they usual custom is to close the area for 100 days to mourn the high chief. Having had this information before we left the United States would have been common courtesy. Two days of flying, 10 days taken off of work for nothing. We were shuffled to dead reefs outside of Palau and on day two of 8 days, the captain informed us that we were in fact running out of dive sights. We were then taken by another captain to the shipping channel of Palau and were thrown into the water with a huge freighter entering the port. This dive resembled being in a washing machine filled with pea soup. It was most dangerous. The crew was inexperienced and it was obvious. Subsequent charters were offered the opportunity to reschedule. We were left hanging. I have contacted the three heads of the Aggressor Fleet Wade Brown, Anne Hanson and Larry Speaker and were left no response. Email communication left us with a robot generated email dated in 2016.
The Aggressor Adventure Fleet could care less about it’s customers and only cares about the exhorbitant fees that they collect from the consumer. I would not recommend this company to anyone because the company does not care about you. This “trip of a lifetime” was a complete sham. Find a company that stands behind their product and actually cares about the lives being endangered. This company is not at all safe.

We have seen the Cocos Islands in Costa Rica, islands all over Raja Ampat in Indonesia and many breathtaking islands all over the world. The Rock Islands rival any islands we have ever seen.

The only thing to do is to visit the Rock Islands. You'll need to go on a tour, rent a boat, dive, or kayak to appreciate this place. Note that the pictured group of islands called "70 Islands" is protected and offlimits and can only be seen by air.

Superlatives are not enough to describe the experience of being among the Rock Islands. We spent six days snorkeling the islands and lagoon and it was beyond what we expected. We had been talking about going to Palau for over 30 years and did it this year. We were not disappointed.

This is a wonderful, as in full of wonder, environment. Ever changing panoramas of islands, turquoise water dotted with coral heads, fast currents through channels giving you a ride over spectacular corals full of fish and other life. Every new place we saw was a favorite, and they will remain in our memories forever.

I do wish that the government of Koror would tighten up on the tours they allow to dump inexperienced snorkelers onto fragile reef sites. We witnessed numerous instances of people who obviously were not comfortable in the water kicking, standing on, and otherwise damaging the coral. They also pushed and shoved others in the water to get to what they wanted to take pictures of. Bad etiquette on all counts. If they are not careful the golden goose--i.e. the reefs that bring in so much revenue--will be so damaged no one will want to see them.

That said, I would do it again tomorrow. Unforgettable.

there's no comparison to this place.
snorkeling or diving or just swimming will be fantastic.
I've been traveling enough and visited turks and caicos, australia, maldives, malaysia, borneo... but I never saw so many shades of blue as here.
the contrast between the turquoise of the sea and the green of the vegetation, or between the blue of the deeper water and grey of the stand alone rocks it's just breathtaking.
this is how you imagine paradise in fairy tales, but it's a place we are lucky enough to have on our planet, with such an amount of fish and marine life to fill your eyes and heart for the rest of your life.
we have to take good care of this gem.

You want to know what it is like go visit it.....what I write here can not do the place justice. The unspoilt beauty the different colours of the ocean the clarity of the water everything combined makes this place paradise......put Palau and the Rock Islands on your bucket list.

This was probably the greatest day trip I've ever been on! I was traveling Palau with a friend. Of course we wanted to do one of this snorkeling day trip tours to see the Rock Islands, Long Beach and Milky Way. We did some research online and narrowed it down to Sam's Tours and RITC. We went to both offices to talk the people in person and get further information on the tours. In the end, we decided on RITC, a Japanese tour operator. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We booked the Rock Island Tour for 100 USD, which was totally worth it. We were picked up the next day at our hotel (the very nice Garden Palace Koror) and take to the starting point of our tour. We were two Westerners (us) and seven Japanese. Our two tour guides were great and very entertaining. We drove along the rocks to Long Beach, which was one of the most impressive sceneries I've ever seen: white sandy beach popping out of the crystal clear turquoise water under the bright blue. We spent quite some time there for swimming and taking impressive pictures. Afterwards, we passed the German Channel for our first snorkeling stop, which was just amazing. Lunch was setup at another deserted beach. Amazing! We had another snorkeling stop afterwards before heading to Milky Way. This tour is a MUST do. RITC is a great tour operator, which I highly recommend for their friendliness, professionalism and great attitude!

Spectacular snorkeling at the drop off, lunch and fun at Carp Island, the Long Beach sandbar and seeing giant clams all in one excursion. Simply put, fantastic. We did our tour through IMPAC tours. Can't recommend them enough. The Rock Islands are a magical place, Something out of a Storybook or out of postcards you might see. Photos still do not do this place justice. If you have a chance, go!

I've joined South Rock Island Tours with Impac Tours and it was really great!!
During the tour we've stopped by Big Drop-off, German Channel, Giant Clam city and had lunch at Carp Island. Amazing Tour sites with Super nice guides by Impac Tours Staffs.
I can never forget the amazing beauty of snorkeling at big drop-off and how wonderfully Impac Tours guides took care of me during snorkeling...I'm not a good swimmer.
BBQ lunch that was also GREAT which were prepared by Impac Tours guides at Carp Island.
Thank you Impac Tours!!
Grant, Roberto, Nong, June, Aoyama, Toshimi, and everyone in Impac Tours who helped me through my one week tours in Palau, Thank you very much!

The Rock Islands are a gem of the Pacific. The Islands are beautiful, the reefs world class, and the snorkeling fantastic. It's hard to praise it as much as it deserves. I don't scuba dive, but some people on one of my boat tours said it's some of the best they've ever done--the coral is so healthy and so many fish. I hope to return again and would encourage anyone to visit.
