The Milky Way, located in the rock islands of this Micronesian country, is known for its therapeutic properties. Locals claim that bathing in the white limestone mud found on the waters floor will make you look ten years younger! Errrrr.... it didn’t happen to me...More

We went through the milkyway on another tour. We didn't get out of the boat because there was a gator/croc on our way in that we didn't want to disturb. There was another boat in there that we passed where people were coated in white.

We went there after a 2-dives tour and loved it! It was so much fun as everyone turned white. Something that should have been seen in Palau!

Made a quick stop with our family and my nephew visiting from Cali and it was an amazing as always. My last visit was April 2017. Definitely a place to check out if it is your first.

The white mud here is a curious mixture of clay and fine sediments mixed with accumulated fish poo. The smelly mixture is good fun to cover yourself with and then dive in to the water to wash off.

We tied up in the Milky Way for a lunch break from scuba diving. It is a beautiful spot. There was lots of wildlife. We heard the call of the Palau Fruit Dove and saw Pacific Reef Heron, Black Noody and Black Naped Terns fishing...More

I visited the site as part of a tour. The site was okay, but there are definitely far nicer places on Palau. This is not a ‘must see’ on Palau

The Milky Way spa is the most unique experience I had. We covered our whole body with the muddy milky volcanic ashes that the locals brought up to our boat from the bottom of the sea. Such fun doing it for each other, and to...More

It’s called the Milky Way due to the claylike sand that visitors slather on their faces and torsos to experience a natural “spa” treatment. This silt-like sand gives the turquoise water a milky color when it is churned up by visitors. The Milky Way is...More

Our tour guide got a lot of volcanic mud which we applied onto our body and jumped into the water afterward. I enjoyed swimming in that area and the color of the water was mesmerizing!

On the Rock islands. You need to ride a boat from Koror about 30 minutes to get there.
