The sand stuff was really cool and it made my skin become really smooth afterwards. The only problem was that the sand smelled like rotten eggs. We put the sand all over ourselves and took funny pictures too.

When I came to Palau 17 years ago, the Milky Way wasn't ever mentioned as a place to visit. Not sure if it wasn't a tourist attraction then or if it just wasn't as popular. But I'm glad I went there this time. You can snorkel around in this gorgeous lagoon while a guide dives down to the bottom to fill a 5 gallon bucket with white clay muck. He then brings it onto the boat and you smear it all over your body and get your photo taken. Then you let it dry and dive into the ocean to clean it off. My skin was smooth and soft for several days after, so I guess their claims of skincare benefits aren't just baloney. They claim that this type of clay is highly sought after for skincare products and I believe it now!

If you liked the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, you will love the Milky Way in Palau. The Blue Lagoon is amazing, but it's an artificial environment. Here at the Milky Way you are in a natural environment. It's hard to believe something like this can exist naturally!

It's a really relaxing spot, and would have liked to spend more time there (I think we were there for about 30 to 40 minutes as part of a tour group). We went as part of a day tour with IMPAC to Jellyfish Lake.

If you wear contact lenses, be careful. You do not want this silt-rich water near your lenses/eyes. Otherwise you will have to take them out.

Imagine going into a serene location , calm cool waters, in a cove with birds and fruit bats flying overhead, noone else around but you, your family, and your tour guide who knew everything there is to know about the place. Tour guide took a dive to get a handful of sand for us to pack our face with it. After 20 minutes, we washed off and felt the smoothest face ever. Yep, like living a dream.

I felt overwhelmed watching God's creation. The sand was fine as flour and the blue sea water and the surrounding plants were amazing.

Any Rock Island Tour necessitates a trip to the Milk Way- it’s gorgeous. Just know that there will be other large tours there and they will be loud and ruin the serenity of this little slice of heaven. Perhaps a local guide can mix up the typical routine and take you at a time when the other tourists have moved along to other sites and you can enjoy the beauty in peace. The crowds are the only reason I gave this a 4 out of 5.

We were lucky to be the first boat at the venue that day and enjoyed little swim in the milky waters listening to the birds and nature and applying the white mud. We all loved the Milky Way because of its beauty and tranquility, however when more boats started appearing, the place lost its charm, so make sure you go there early in morning .

We went here with our 2 children 7 and 5 year old. You can swim here can't see any sea life as it is very muddy. The mud at the bottom is supposedly very good for the skin. Do try it not be warned it does smell like rotten eggs (sulphur effect). Fun for kids swimming in here. The place looks beautiful and is a small lagoon like area off the sea.
