It has mainly birds although not a big variety. It is a nice place to go for a picnic as it has plenty of tables and chairs to sit down relax and enjoy the quite nature. Not worth the trip if short in time.

Based on others reviews we hired segways at Le Village complex near the city centre and had a great time at the Parc zoologiqueet forestier. The Parc is nice and quiet on weekdays but reported to be busy with lots of locals on weekends so go when it is quiet. It is on a steep hill so getting around would... More

We did a segway tour of the park, and I can't recommend it enough. Great array of birds and other smalll animals on display. Close to the city.

Taking a segway tour will allow you to breeze through the park, nice on a hot day, and you will be able to see the entire park quicker than if you walk thru it. Also, there were no signs in English that tell you what you're looking at, so all you would think is, "Oh a bird" without knowing the... More

They have Kagous in pens, some other birds behind mesh, a limited amount of flora and I had the impression that with lots more work and some expansion - the gardens had potential. A good start.

Absolutely fabulous way to see the Botanical Gardens! We were given a training session on how to use the Segway. I'm a slow learner but I picked it up. The two guides were wonderful giving us both assistance with Segways + giving all the information we needed about the Gardens. We packed a lot into 2.5 hours. Great tour/great value/great... More

An inexpensive city escape, that we enjoyed as much for the walk through beautiful 'natural' forest, outstanding views and sightings of the cagou (national bird), as we did for the birds (a feature of the park), the roaming peacocks, reptiles, monkeys and animals for children. There is plenty to occupy a family for half a day or so, but don't... More

The animals are quite spread out and the majority of them are birds in smallish cages, so unless you heavily into parrots you might be a bit disappointed BUT the three or fours monkey cages were fun and if you can, make sure you make it to the cagou ( the national bird) feeding, when the drab grey creature puts... I was in Noumea for one day, coming in on the P and O Pacific Pearl. When I got off, about 8.15am, I walked up to the FOL lookout, then to the St Jospehs Cathedral and then down to the local markets by the Bay, arriving about 9.30am. Then headed to the Parc Forrister. After doing research before arriving, we... More
