A very nice beach popular with locals

During a day visit from a P&O cruise ship we did another half day tour before going to Lemon Bay. We used the HOHO bus to get to Lemon Bay Beach front. One thing to keep in mind, we were in Noumea on a Saturday and just after 11:30 am were unable to get tickets from the local operator for... More

It's a miniature of the French Riviera. The beach, then the road going along the beach, then the cafes, bars, restaurants and clubs longing the road. The beach is ok. There are nicer ones on the island though.

Best place to swim in noumea when southerly wind blowing. Water was clear and blue, very tropical. Choice of grass with shade or sand. Many cafes and restaurants across the road.

It's mostly a sandy beach, family friendly. Across the road there are many restaurants and cafes. There are trees separating the beach from the road - they have some yellow berries, if they fall on light colored clothers they leaves stains not easty to wash.

We visited Noumea just before Xmas - this was our second time here cruising. Our first visit to Noumea it rained all day, so we were hopeful for some sunshine, and we were lucky this time! Lemon Bay is easily accessed by public bus ( either number 10 or 11) and from what I could tell they ran every 20... More

Unlike Anse Vata beach, this one is nicely sheltered from the wind. Not so good for wind surfing maybe but very nice for swimming or just laying about under the trees. The beach is shelly, not sand, so that is a bit inconvenient but OK once you get a little way out in the water. The lawns and trees are... More

About half the usually available beach space is enclosed by cyclone fencing and unavailable as part of the general renovation of this very pleasant beach area. The sand is narrow but tree lined , easy access, seats, a public convenience and a series of eateries and stores across the road mean this beach should remain amongst your favourites. Also easily... Took the tourist circuit bus here to have a look, although I noticed a very regular public bus when I was there. Nice beach with calm water and a nice outlook on the sunset. A whole row of eateries across the road that look to wake up as the sun goes down. Shaded grassy areas on the edge and very... More

Perfect for families and small children this beach is very picturesque. There's grassy areas to sit under the palm trees. Early every morning it is cleaned by local authorities. Lots of pebbles and coral pieces so reef shoes an advantage if you like walking up and down along the sand. Amazing snorkelling too at the end of the beach!
