This little island is so much fun! If you're choosing between Duck Island and Maitre, then 100% come to Maitre. I loved both but if you only have the time to visit one island then Maitre is the way to go! Pack a lunch and catch the water taxi over from Anse Vata for 2800F return. Or book a night... More

The sand was so white and fine like flour, and the sea was so clear that we could see a turtle from the beach... I spend the day relaxing on the beach. There is not much else to do but serenity and beauty were enough to make this island a paradise.

I'd read that this lovely little island had a buffet that was too expensive and of poor quality. Well, when I travel I don't mind losing a few pennies, or dollars exploring what's around on offer so I went to the island and bought the buffet for somewhere around Aus$80 - not cheap but not crazy expensive either. The buffet... More

A surprise holiday from my family, friends and fiance which has been amazing . We stayed in an over the water bungalow , where we had a private deck and stairs leading straight into the water . The staff were so friendly and caring . Helped with understanding my horrible French . I will highly recommend to all y friends... More

After a 15 minute boat taxi ride at a cost of 2500 franks per person we arrived on a very quiet little island. Only takes 15 minutes to walk around. The little cafe on the island has a very limited yet tasty menu of sandwiches and hot dogs (stay away from the hot dogs!) Stick with the baguette sandwich! The... More

'We arrived out at this Island around 1.30pm and we were hungry for lunch. The only thing on offer at the L'escapades Resort was a buffet lunch which was quite expensive. They redirected us to the casual lunchbar along the beach. We found the little hut and a very cool women served me a really good poisson cru salad and... More

Only 15 minutes on a Water Taxi to this lovely quiet spot. Snorkeling side of island had lots of trees to sit under and plenty of sand to sit on. There were a few rocks to step over to get into the water but no big deal. Beautiful clear water. We swam out about 40 meters over the shallow part... More

Always wanted to stay in an overwater bungalow. Finally had my chance when planning this holiday. Needed 3 bungalows (thanks to Jeremie JEZEQUEL at LA City travel in Sydney) he secured the 3 bungalows. They are absolute quality from the bathroom to the lounge area to the super comfortable beds. TIP: ask the staff to raise the ladder to the... More

This is a lovely place to go for a day trip. I would have loved to stay in one of the over water huts, but unfortunately they are a bit too expensive so I made it a day trip instead. The taxi boat costs about $31AUD return. (The yellow boat closer to the hotels is more expensive, walk up about... More

My sons aged 14 and 18 years really enjoyed what was on offer here. It is not that far from Anse Vata and 2800 xpf for water taxi, but in our opinion it is much better than Canards or duck island, with so much more on offer. If you don't worry about the cost (ouch) stand up paddleboards were enjoyed... More
