I was here during the day. My son and I did not see or hear anything paranormal. It was very crowded, and someone had brought their young children here, who were running through the house making all sorts of noise, so I'm sure that didn't help. The basement is closed off, and the house is very bright during the day. Lots of windows. We did not need to turn on any lights while we were there. The tour is self guided, and there's very little information, other than a few notes stuck on the wall throughout the house. I'm glad I saw this anyway, it's been on my bucket list forever.

It was crazy busy on the Saturday in October that we were there. It was hard to buy into the whole super normal experience while bumping into people. Tickets to the Sallie House myst be purchased in advance from the Atchison Chamber of Commerce.

So my boyfriend, although a believer in many things is not a big believer of ghosts but booked and did this tour because he knows I am into it. He also enjoys history of small towns and listening to stories about them. After the trip to Sallie’s house I think he had changed his mind. Our tour guide Angie was amazing to listen to. She told us the history of the house and the town itself as well as gave us stories about what she had seen in the house during her time there. I believe her to of what she has seen. My camera played up a lot while in the house, both my and my boyfriend had the feeling we were being watched (and not by our tour guide) and some of the tours in the nursery had indeed moved while we were walking around.
We did the private tour.. it was worth it. I know they do over night stays and why someone would want to stay there overnight is beyond me..
Over it was a great and creepy experience.. so very glad we went.
Angie was also nice enough to give us ideas of where else to visit in town and the best place to eat. She was an amazing tour guide.

THIS.HOUSE!
We walked in the door to a heavy feeling. No biggy.
We immediately went to open the basement door, where most of the activity seems to stem from. We hear footsteps going up the stairs above, but no one but us was int he house and we were all in the kitchen. From there it was a parade of shadows, equipment going off, voices, you name it. We all left the house wondering if we should be investigating anymore.

I'm a big fan of paranormal investigations and was excited about visiting. My expectations were within reason - I simply wanted to visit the house and learn more about what had happened. Upon arrival, we watched a video - a really horrible, poorly done production. A high school student doing service hours (with no real background on the haunting) told us we could wander around. No one really knew much about the story of Sallie.... and the signs were one-two sentences. Don't be fooled by the "every two hour" tour schedule.... it will take you all of five minutes to walk through the house. This was a money-making scam.
If you visit, be sure to do the paranormal investigation. It seems that with some guidance and background from someone who knows the story and has experience, it could be an interesting experience.

A group of us went last fall and found this to be an expensive waste of money and time. It's an old house, nothing is haunted, and the local of chamber of commerce charged us $150 to go tour it. Save your money and go have a nice meal in town.

We spent a lot of money and did the overnight event. I have participated in several overnight "ghost hunts", slept in another house that was supposedly haunted and have been to numerous castles and overnights in Europe. The Sallie House was a huge disappointment. Your main concern will be people coming up and knocking on the doors and windows asking to come inside, or just popping up in a window and taking photos. There are not many blinds or curtains in the house. The house is on a busy street so all you see are car lights going around the rooms. In summer you will have the old AC unit making noise. Did not get any sense of anything out of place, was not scared nor had any strange feelings anywhere in the house. I honestly would recommend you NOT to waste your money. The history of this house does not show at any time there being a "Sallie" in the house yet alone dying in the house.

I would have saved myself $65--the cost of the tour--had I researched "Ghost Hunters Flashlight Trick" before signing up for the Sallie House Paranormal Investigations Tour, under the direction of Sean Daley the weekend of Oct. 24, 2015. The mystery and intrigue surrounding the Sallie House has now been ruined for me.

I had visited 2 years prior and wrote a review on here. Awesome experience the first time. Not so much this time. I was astonished that they allowed 150 people to go through a tiny house within 2 hours. We had to wait 20-30 minutes to be allowed in. In years past there were maybe 20 people coming through over the course of 2 hours. This year people were in an out. It was not fun to investigate with people packed in rooms staring at you like you are crazy as you ask questions. They also don't allow you to go into the basement like they had prior deeming it unsafe. Which is a fun part and I feel like they should've disclosed this when purchasing tickets. Yet you can go in the basement but only on the guided tour with a paranormal team because only then is it "Safe". They have a medium at the door talking with people outside. She kept insisting we shouldn't listen to other people and their stories of the Sallie House to keep an open clear mind yet I heard her talking to people in line about the DR that lived there, the previous owners along with the spirits she has encountered. Very contradicting. She kept referencing she was a medium and if you asked her a questions she spoke to you in a very condescending way like you didn't know anything. Maybe that is why she had trouble packing in her dinner with a medium event she was hosting for the evening for $60 a person. I heard her ask so many people if they were the ones that had asked about the dinner with a medium event as they were leaving. I have no idea if she is legit but she wasn't welcoming. Overall, don't bother with touring unless you know for sure there won't be 150 people going through. Very disappointed Atchison, KS Chamber of Commerce.

Well, I made the reservations several weeks in advance, tickets were $10.00 per person and they give you a two hour window. I assumed, (my mistake) that it would take two hours to walk through this "haunted" house." It actually takes about 15 mins. and that is if you move SLOWLY! The house is a small two story structure, not as old as numerous houses in the area....and smells like MOLD. (Think they might have a BAD water problem!) Nevertheless, we were greeted on the porch but that is pretty much all the interaction you'll find....there is a lady sitting on the couch, playing a video of the house and stuff taped on the wall saying things about the house. Although, this house is SUPPOSE to be the most haunted house around...the neighbor said he really hadn't experienced anything strange...like seeing people in the windows, etc. With that said, one lady from another place said she saw the man and the kids with scratches when they went to the hospital. There are many things written about this house but it is just a run down shell of a house...
