Made a quick trip to town to visit family, bringing along a couple of kiddos who hadn’t yet visited Atchison. I took them down to see the River and this area of town looks great! The lookouts over the river and informative stops are very...More

Very well kept path along the river with information about the landing and stay there of the Lewis and Clark expedition. So relaxing to take a walk there and have beautiful views of the river and the wildlife.

There are 5 plaques that honor veterans. The history of this landing spot on the river goes back to Lewis & Clark. I can see why they stopped there, it was easy to get in and out of the river.

We rode through with our motorcycles on a beautiful day. This spot has great access to the water. There was a band playing. We could have joined in and stayed for hours.

Having been away for years, it was a wonderful surprise when I returned to see what Atchison had done to the river front area. Although in a flood zone, the park and most of the riverfront are above the 'typical' flood levels. In the summer,...More

Beautiful, but too much vehicle noise. The vehicles are a big downer when trying to get some peace & quiet. Nice park to relax with family and alone. Playground for kids. Bathrooms. Nice restaurant.

Yes, there is. A small one in the part that I believe is called Independence Park. It’s a nice little shaded area. The kids had a blast as did the man and dog passing through! I wasn’t familiar with how these things work... More
