I was fortunate enough to trek the Kokoda track with Adventure Kokoda from the 2nd to the 11th of July. Our trek leader was Bernie and was the most incredible leader. His passion and knowledge for the track is above anything else. He took great care of all the Trekkers and ensured that the porters were all cared for. The... More

Adventure Kokoda with trek leader Bernie Rowell. I first trekked Kokoda in July 2015 with a group of 23 trekkers ranging in ages from 16 - 65, what a truly amazing experience! One of the first things that comes to mind is the advice that was given by Bernie on just how much training would be required to be both... More

Having just completed a 9 day trek with Escape, I couldn't speak highly enough of Shane and the team. The whole experience was excellent but there were a range of things that set Escape apart from other operators (from what we saw with other groups passing by) which included a very detailed account of the war, fantastic food and the... We trekked with Adventure Kokoda early July and I would not trek with another company! Adventure Kokoda were amazing. Bernie our trek leader was awesome, he is so passionate and his knowledge of he war and the battle grounds is incredible. What an amazing experience.!!!! You need to be very fit as there are a lot of up and down hills and mountains, nothing like ours in Australia. We had very comfortable weather conditions, although there were some landslides on the Kokoda side of the walk as there was lots of unseasonal rain earlier. We paid extra for a porter, best... More

Words can not describe this pilgrimage, trekking through one of the most scenically beautiful parts of the world steeped in history for both Australia and Papua New Guinea. Walk in the footsteps of Australian soldiers from World War Two and stay in local villages and campsites maintained meticulously by the local people who are friendly inviting and just simply some... My son and I have just returned from a truly amazing 10 day experience, walking the Kokoda trek! Whilst the physicality of the walk is fairly full on, this is more than complimented by the scenery, the people, the military significance and the great people at Adventure Kokoda. From start to end, can't fault the team, admirably led by Rowan... More

Just completed the Trip of a lifetime with Shane Goodwin of Escape Trekking Adventures Team 6. It was probably the toughest challenge i have ever done both mentally and physically. Shane and his team provided high quality tasty food, expert guidance and a wealth of knowledge both culturally and historically. His knowledge of the Kokoda Campaign , battle sites ,stories... More

I have just come back from a trek led by Shane Goodwin from Escape Trekking Adventures, and can not speak highly enough of the experience, the natural beauty of the area, and the professionalism with which Shane organised and conducted the trek. I was a little apprehensive of travelling as a solo female in PNG, but Shane put me at... More
