Don't miss this corner of frescoed history - a quiet boutique experience with a delicious breakfast. Step back in time and realize that the majority of the quiet, dignified travelers around you understand how important this hotel is to the identity and romance of Paraguay. Take a moment to read about Mariscal Lopez and Madame Lynch before you go. HINT:... More

My experience with this hotel is through an English friend that stayed consistently at this hotel whenever he came to Paraguay, and he always praised it for the attention that the personnel dispensed the traveler, locally it is considered one of the best local hotels, that is still managed by the same family, and it is possibly the oldest of... Be sure to ask the hotel staff to tell you about the history of this place. Nice gardens close to downtown.

Charming even if not very well maintained. Good and helpful Staff. With investment it could become a nice place located not far from the center and the shopping area.

The most traditional Paraguayan of all hotels. Beautiful gardens, a big pool and very old style. It is a bog hotel yet with a botique feel. Situated back in a neighborhood not on a busy street. Good food too

Although truly gran by Paraguayan standards of 50 years ago, it's just OK for today. The location is also OK, not too close to everything, but in the general area. The rooms were definitely old style, with shutters to the outside courtyard and fairly poor air conditioning. Still there was an en suite bathroom and the toilet worked fine, so... More

We live in the U.S. This was our first time in Paraguay. We've spent a fair amount of time in South America.....off and on for 20 years or so and been all over. We were pleasantly surprised by Paraguay. Not at all like most of the reviews, a good place to visit now. The Gran Hotel provides free airport pickup,... More
