We came here on a Monday afternoon using public transportation.
You can take bus number 23 from Colon street or 41-1 from Eligio Ayalla or Presidente Franco.
Bus dropped us on the main road and we walked a couple of blocks to the entrance.
The viewpoint is free to enter and is very peaceful and secure.
You can't get a full 360 degrees view due to vegetation but the parts you can see are very nice.

A bit of a drive from Asunción but well worth it. Time your visit to spend and hour our so walking around the top of the hill before sunset and then stay for the full sunset - you will be thankful. Nature will provide you with a show you won't forget that will last longer than any fireworks display and give you more colors. Just be aware there are no food venders there so bring your snacks and drinks if you plan to stay a few hours - which you should!

The cerro is nice, the area driving up to it it's not very nice, so I highly recommend to visit if you have a car.
You get a nice view of the whole city from the top.

This is a nice place to get a large view of Asuncion. It seems to be a place to be alone for couples also (nothing bad when we were there).

It was hard to find as Paraguay hasn’t yet figured signage to tourist areas. The drive in was through a slum area also which seemed sketchy. The view at top was limited bc of trees. There were no services at top either except for large parking lot. The sunset over the flooded river was amazing though.

Many people on this hill on a Sunday late afternoon. But still worth to go up for the view over the river and the city.

It gives great views of Asuncion and neighboring cities. On the back side of the monument you can see the river and the Argentinian border.

This is a very worthwhile trip during the day. The view of the bend in the river and out to the vast Chaco Boreal is amazing to see.
