takes you back to the colonial Asunción. The museum is great, the architecture is clear for you to get the feel.

We visited Friday afternoon, and the church was closed. The exterior is nice, but take caution as surrounding the church is a villa village so best to visit during the day.

It's a must if you happen to be in Asuncion. It is, I believe the best place to start a tour downtown. The building is located near everything and a great spot to meet people before walking around Asuncion. Nice on the inside and nice on the outside. Not much to do inside though, except when the OSCA (Municipal Orchestra... More

The cathedral is modestly appointed inside--except for a stunning (hammered?) silver altar. Very rare. Exquisite. I was there at 10 a.m., and found no main doors open. I kept walking, and found a small door at the rear. I walked in, found someone in an office, asked if the cathedral was open, he said it was, and gestured. I followed... More

It's not bad, but I do not see it as a turist attraction. I entered to take a look and escape the traffic noise. It's a beautiful church, but I guess that you have to be interested i churches to see it as a turist attraction.

The cathedral is a pleasant, peaceful environment, whose chief attraction is the extensive and finely wrought silver work at the altar.

I agree with the reviews which say this is a plain church, with problematic opening hours, in an insalubrious area We did manage to see inside, it was on a Sunday, but they were about to close the building. In all honestly , you get more from the outside of the building than the inside. And yes the area is... More

Latin America is home to a lot of beautiful churches and they usually keep their doors open. This one is simple, it's located in a trashed area (but we felt pretty safe there, so it's just the garbage on the streets, the people were friendly) and it was closed without any schedule posted.

The church is nice, in baroque stile, but the whole city is dirty - people throw trash to the street and nobody cleans that.
