This would make a nice walk when it's cool in the early evening or early morning. The truth is that at other times it's just too hot. Pleasant vista with boats rowing on the river early morning. Guess it's not so good when there's a lot of traffic about.

It is nice to walk on the Costanera, especially in the summer when the heat is tempered by a nice breeze from the river.

A nice view of the river from here. The ASUncion sign is behind the Palace and offer good picture options. Asuncion Port can be seen from here to.
The benches on the sidewalks offer nice resting place and enjoy the views.

It’s not a great or pretty place to walk, neither is it well kept, but it’s worth going there to see an alternate view of the city, and to see the river. I can see work still ongoing here, so might improve. If you simply feel like walking, it’s a good choice.

The Costanera is a young construction in Asuncion. There are so many more projects coming around and will be good for this city

A definite must do in Asunción! The Costanera itself is fantastic and fun. Enjoy a nice walk along the water. Do some people watching. Rent a bike. Buy some ice cream from the vendors. Watch the skies for the paragliders. But also try to go during the day for one view and stay (or return) at night for a beautiful view of the downtown Asunción skyline. Christmas is a must to see the Palace lit up! And spend some time walking the nearby neighborhoods to enjoy the local cafes and local graffiti which is actually beautiful art! Have fun and explore!

What should be a lovely " Rambla " by the river has suddenly become dirty and unsafe . The Municipality seems to have forgotten this place !

You could pretty much see the Cathedral, Theater, Government Palace, Legislative building ,and Avenida Costanera in one day. Avenida Costanera is by far my favorite place to visit in Asuncion. It was only four blocks from my hotel (Gran Hotel Armele). I could go there everyday and enjoy watching the boats and small-size ferries cross the Asuncion Bay along with other Naval activity since the the Asuncion port is in close proximity. A must see and definite highlight in the city of Asuncion and if you would like a city tour of Asuncion, contact Martin Travel website http://www.martintravel.com.py/ and email: incoming01@martintravel.com.py. Happy Travels!!!

They were late for 20 years but they did it at least... Great for better traffic but especially to have a global view of Asuncion.
