This Bridge was built many years ago and still going strong. Without this Bridge, the transportation of Goods and People crossing would take much longer the Ferries or boats.

The Demerara Harbour Bridge is a landmark and a major transportation link between the East bank and the West bank of the Demerara River. The bridge was commissioned in July 1978 and was design to last for 10 years. The bridge is still in operation today. It is sitting across the Demerara River, approximately 6km from the river's mouth, spanning from Peter's Hall to Meer Zorgen, the Demerara Harbour Bridge is 2.0km long and has 61 spans.
