Pay attention to the simplicity of the wooden architectural details of this church and you can appreciate its beauty among other proeminent buildings around.

First visited this old church in 1968 New Year Eve. Was delighted by the organ music and the wonderful voices heralding the new year in. It gave me a feeling of melancholy as it was the first time I heard Handel's Chorus Hallelujah. I revisited again in 1972 and in 1976. The structure needs a little work but my memories of this old place stay in tact.

The area in the immediate vicinity feels a bit dodgy, but it is still safe enough to take pics during the day. The church didn't seem to be open when I visited on a Monday morning.

Built in 1818, the church sits proudly opposite the parliament as if to say I'm overlooking my people's welfare while you argue and fight for your egos , you may come to me for a lesson in peace , justice and remembrance that we are nothing we come and we go. Structures like these have endured for a long long time. I loved this church. it is a cosy well built structure. Whatever your religious persuasion, a visit is worth it.

Located almost opposite the parliament this wooden church is not as grand as the St.Georges' Cathedral, but ist has an interesting history. Started as a Dutch Reformist Church it was taken over by the Scotch Presbyterian community of the town in early 19th century. The church is of historical interest due to th fact that it was the first one to allow slaves to worship in it.

The church has a very rich history tied to the experiences of enslaved people and the church. The colonialists and their role is evident in the church.

This Kirk us a bit different as it's all wooden and it stands out from the local buildings. It looks quite impressive from the outside, inside its relatively plain and simple...what you'd expect from a church building of this faith.

I was visiting St. Andrew´s Kirk in the center of Georgetown with my wife and in my opinion this is one of the "must see" when you visit the city.

I would like to know if there is still a cemetery by St. Andrew's Kirk? My father (a Canadian) was buried there In 1948 and I would like to visit if I could see his grave site.
