Leaving from Casa del Libertador this is a not so busy walking corridor to get down to the city center. At the beginnig there are a lot of streets vendors which is quite common in Bogota and specially close to tourist attractions. you pass by a small church, a market and get to la plaza de los periodistas. I personnally find that the water corridor and the plants at his side break a little bit the opening and continuity of the space....

This shouldn't be a destination for anyone, but you should walk through there at some point in your trip, especially if your walking from la Septima up to Monserrate. It will take you buy the Parque Periodistas, Las Aquas and by the statue of Policarpa, a major heroine of the revolution. The road follows the former river that ran through the city, and now runs underground. You'll often see students studying or gathered in small groups, as the University of the Andes is close by.
The water features themselves are simply a series of water basins along Jimenez. The water is usually stagnant, and, sadly, it's a destination for homeless as they use it to wash themselves. It's a nice walk that will take you through some areas of important and cultural significance, but it's not a destination.
