Located in Bolivar Square, this is the largest cathedral in Colombia and one of the largest in South America. It's a magnificent example of neoclassical architecture and is filled with colonial paintings and ornate decorations.

Nice church

Nice historical building, in the middle of the old city center. Don't miss this! One of the eye catchers of Bogota.

This is a big church located in front of the Plaza Bolivar. The interior of the church has decorations and furnishings from the end of the 19th century. Has few ornaments throughout its interior, walls are plain and has a big altar.

The cathedral is impressive in size and decoration. The sculptures are of great quality while the atmosphere is serene.

Really neat spot but be weary of homeless around. We stopped for pictures and noticed 10+ homeless laying around.

Part of the scenery at Plaza Bolivar. If you go to Bogota you have to visit here even if it is just for a quick look.

This church is located on the Plaza Bolivar and is worth a visit, is it a great church...no it is not amazing from the inside. There´s a lot of marble and some nice pictures on the ceiling, watch closely to see the 3d-foot of an angel near the altar, is kind of funny.

Beautiful cathedral, heavily decorated in the inner part, lots of altars and a beautiful ceiling, definitely a must go in Bogotá

If you've traveled through Latin American, and seen some of the truly magnificent churches, especially in Mexico, this one will not impress you. The combination of weather, earthquakes, and violence have resulted in this structure being nowhere near a good representation of original colonial architecture.

This is a beautiful and historic building. It is part of the lively Bolivar Plaza which is full of activity. Be sure to have an Obleja while you are there (Mick Jagger did!)
