The Banco de la República Gold Museum houses one of the most important collections of pre-Hispanic metallurgy in the world. As its history, which dates back to 1939, has unfolded, so this institution has become a symbol of Colombia's cultural memory. Its golden exhibition, fully renewed in November, 2008, is a place you cannot miss in your next trip to Bogota.

This is one of the best museums i've been to. You walk through floors of gold. All of the little golden amuletts etc. are handcrafted and this is really awesome. There are lot of small things you can't believe them crafted these hundred years ago....More

The museum is organized in such a way that it not only offers the visitor a beautiful exhibit of the greatly varied gold pieces from pre Columbian times, but also a very good perspective of the societies that inhabited these territories. Loved it!

Difficult to find and was closing early on day we went. Pope's visit! Impressive to see all the items but becomes a little monotonous if you are not particularly interested in the history. Worth a visit. Allow 1.5 hours for a quick visit.

A fantastic history of gold and indigenous peoples of Colombia. Fascinating and if you have ever watched ancient aliens on Netflix then you will be pleasantly surprised!

The unique, must-see museum has extensive exhibits of various gold artifacts from different regions in Colombia in pre-Hispanic times. The exhibits make one appreciate the amazing indigenous advanced civilizations before the European conquests. Some of the gold ornaments are exquisite. Free admission on Sundays.

This is an interesting place for a quick visit. There were lots of wonderful artifacts and plenty of detailed history lessons. I wouldn't go out of my way to see this but if you're bored one day, why not?

One of the best museums in town. The museum is small, but it is unique. The expositions are great. There are a couple of interactive ones that are really enjoyable and allow you to learn about prehispanic cultures
