El Chico Hacienda museum is near Parque 93 and where we were staying. It was a fun and interesting diversion but I wouldn't rate it a must-see. The museo provides a glimpse of hacienda living for a prominent historical family in Bogota of the past. Collection pieces and personal items adorn the many rooms, including a nice chapel. Intricate tilework... More

It's a small museum and really great maintained. Ideal when you are in the park and want to give your kids some culture too. Plus the house shows you how the old houses were. Really lovely.

I wouldn't call this museum stunning or integral to your Bogota trip, but it's worth visiting if you have free time. The museum is in an old hacienda that belonged to a wealthy family. Though diminutive in size, it has a beautiful collection of objects from around the world. The objects (dishes, religious icons, cloths, etc) belonged to the family.... More

Nice city park. Good for mixed groups (With/without children) as you can enjoy together a perfect picnic and the children can play at one of the most complete playgrounds in Bogota-North. Crowded on Sunday, please go early to have a good place for the pcinic. Has a bakery on truck in case you don´t bring your own food. During September-October... More

Unfortunately the museum was closed for a 'special occasion/event' for a couple of weeks on the Sunday I visited, which was disappointing as I'd checked the website the day previously and there was no mention of this. Nevertheless the gardens are lovely and a great place for a family picnic or just to find some peace and quiet in the... More

The park is open every day till 9pm. It is simply a green place where you can end up for a picnic with friends, playgrounds for kids and bar and coffe at "Brot" bakery and cafe, in a london bus. Bathroom facilities and recreational activities for kids like painting, all nicely and very well organised. Indeed we had a super... More

A beautifully maintained small mansion -- now a museum -- in park-like surroundings -- a terrific break from the very crowded city. Only Spanish signage and no English guide (when we were there) but a most gracious woman showed us around to understand the lifestyle of the wealthy 100 years ago. Would like to have seen the kitchen and wander... More

The Museo del Chico is a wonderful old residence donated to the city on wonderful grounds. The setting is fantastic and Chico is a particularly beautiful part of this bustling traffic clogged city -- and so a great respite. It is a charming colonial home and has a beautiful courtyard garden where weddings are held to raise money for the upkeep... More
