Lovely piece of quiet in the city

Love this place. It's cheap, calm and beautifully maintained. Bring a book, bring lunch and just enjoy the surroundings.

If you love plants, this is the place for you! Even tough it is now under renovation in some parts it was still amazing. Huge variety of trees and plants, large gardens with different themes to them- herbal garden, flower garden, pond with water flowers, rose garden and more. We spent 2.5 hours without even noticing and left only because... More

A well maintained large park with lots of local flora and fauna. We saw some beautiful birds, flowers and a variety of trees. The water areas were lovely. Easy to get to by taxi.

Maybe because I've been to so many botanical gardens before, this one just wasn't impressive. There was construction going on and the park wasn't well maintained. But I did see how cool plants and flowers I've never seen before !!

Spent a lovely Saturday morning wondering around this park/botanical garden. Appeared to have a diverse range of trees and plants from Columbia but with limited Spanish we just enjoyed the walk. Greenhouses reportedly closed through end of 2016. Café had a nice selection of snacks and light lunches. Entry price of ~$1 a bargain.

If you need a close encounter with nature, this may be the place. Although certain places need remodeling, it's ok and you will have your peace if that's what you're looking for. Try not to go in a hurry because it's a big place and the whole tour may take 1.5h No food or beverages are allowed inside so forget... More

The greenhouses are closed for renovations. One other thing to mention is they do not offer a map. We were told to take a picture of the map by the entrance. Seriously?! We didn't see any garden maps inside the garden either nor many direction signs but it's pretty easy to just stroll around. The signs are predominantly all in... More

We took a taxi all the way out to the Botanical Garden (only $5) but lots of traffic so took time. It is a typical collection but we were particularly looking forward to the orchids. The collection was closed while they do a lengthy remodel of the greenhouses. We'd checked the website, which didn't mention this fact.

The botanical garden is generally well kept. The signs are all in Spanish, so take an English tour (offered complimentary by park biologists, tips are accepted) to get more out of it. The cafe is reasonably priced, but closes an hour or so before the park closes. You can still get packaged snacks after the kitchen is closed. It's right... More
