Really enjoyed sitting in Murillo. It is shaded and leafy with elegant Cathedral flanking it. Lots of local families relaxing here taking time out from the crazy city streets. Some nice food vendors selling fruit, nuts and cold drinks, I think we ended up here pretty much every day during our stay. Lovely spot, our favourite in La Paz I... More

It is a nice Square commemorating the Revolutionary Leader Pedro Murillo who lost his life in the struggle for independence from Spain. The Square is surrounded by the National Congress and the Government Palace. The pigeons population there seems to explode and should benefit from some form of management

This plaza is right outside key government offices including the presidencial palace, ministry of foreign affairs and other offices in the vicinity. It is a key attraction to both locals and tourists. You will often find people with their small children feeding the doves of taking pictures or just on a family hang out. One thing to note though is... More

This is a nice square ringed by government buildings populated by locals enjoying the square and feeding the pigeons. Look at the clock in the yellow building! I won't spoil your discovery by describing it. The reasons for it are varied: from an election attention getter, to a statement of independence, as in, we do it differently in the southern... More

I walked through this plaza twice. Each time it was full of activity and made frenetic by swarming pigeons, pop-up vendors, children and blaring music. Very good place to take pictures or video of Bolivians celebrating life.

An iconic plaza in the city of La Paz, flanked by parliament buildings. It is definitely worth a visit!

We thought it would be a great place to take photos but it turns out as a pigeons square only. Maybe with a guide, it would be more interesting

The medium size square is full of people and pigeons. On one side, there is the seat of the government, on another, the presidential palace. There is also the Cathedral, and across a narrow street from it, a museum. Streets go from the square in different directions, all with character and full of local people and shops. Perhaps the most... More

This is a lovely plaza. Surrounded by cathedrals, parliamentary buildings and a town hall, this place is perfect for photos. Two things to look out for.. The clock on the town hall (its a bit different) and the building to the north west of the square... Its filled with bullet holes when the army and police clashed in thd early... More

Located close to the very cute, little Jelen Street, lies what is perhaps the administrative center of the country, Plaza Murillo, surrounded by the Government/Presidential Palace, The National Congress Building and the National Cathedral, while in its center, there’s a statue of one of Bolivia’s heroes, Pedro Domingo Murillo, a forerunner of the country’s independence movement. The plaza seems to... More
