This is a trip I'd been waiting to do for many many years. The old road is surprisingly well maintained. I wish it hadn't been raining so much, but none the less an unforgettable trip. I'd like to go again when there is better weather so I can fully capture the views.

See my review at Barracuda Biking page. Definitely worth Doing! Awesome day. Great price, very professional, and this road was a great time to do on bikes.

A must do in La Paz! Especially if you like bikes and speed. Amongst the best landscapes I've seen in Bolivia and crazy emotional experiences of both danger and happiness. You get to chill at a super nice hotel at the rainforest after all is done and get a full buffet lunch for free. Moreover, you geta CD with all... More

I live in La Paz and we have taken visiting friends on this trip several times over the last couple of decades. It never disappoints! Stunning changes of scenery from the mountain road that clings to the cliffs from the ice clad mountains at 5000 meters above sea level to the jungle at about 1500 meters.

We decided to cycle the Death Road while we were staying in La Paz, we did some research into companies to go with and it came down to 2. The first and second most experienced and safest companies. We decided to go with the number one company Gravity. They're the longest running company with the best safety record and equipment.... More

We walked this road, which was very, very nice. We felt safe, because we had ground under our feet, and it's a very very quiet road, so you can hear if there's bikes or cars coming towards you. Also the road is pretty wide (to walk!), and the nature is absolutely breathtaking!! To be honest we were expecting a more... More

The death road by bike is by far of one the most exciting things I've ever done and I strongly recommend it! But beware of the company you're choosing. We did it with barro biking, their equipment looked like second hand, the bikes were ok and they were really late to pick us up. So, unless you are out of... More

This road still has the occasional vehicle coming up to meet you as you ride down, so take it easy, but the tour guides from "Ride On" ensured we were informed of the safety rules and reminded us when we seemed to be taking risks. Safety equipment and excellent bikes are essential for making this trip one to remember forever.... More

We went with Barro biking and would definitely recommend. As isn't as well know, we had a smaller group (8people) and therefore didn't have to wait a long time for anyone. A little too many photo stops, but some people are into that. Great company and it seems they all offer similar things (including food etc), the only difference is... More
