He is an okay guide if that is all you are looking for. Two out of the three mornings he did not even show up, he sent us with his driver. As far as teaching, he brings you to a place and then runs off by himself with his arsenal of cameras and drone to capture his own images to use for his personal publications. I would not recommend a workshop with him but maybe just a guided tour to certain places. He does not ask you if you might need assistance so just know that you are on your own.

Sergio is familiar with the area I will give him that but as a guide or so called "workshop leader" he is awful. He will take you to a location and then set off on his own with his two cameras, two tripods, and drone etc to capture his own images and footage for promotion of his personal tours and website. He never once asks if you would like some assistance. He placed his tripod right in the middle of a scene and when we asked him to move it he replied that he was doing a timelapse and it could not be moved. It did not even have a camera on it. Two out of the three mornings that we had a chance to capture the sunrise, he did not even bother to get out of bed but sent us with his driver. His lack of concern on whether we captured anything was overwhelming. We drove over 2000 kilometers on dirt roads over a short period of time. More time was spent in the car than capturing any scenes. It would have been nice if he mentioned ahead of time just how much time would be spent in the beat up old Suburban. Maybe if you want just a guide to show you some places he would be okay but as a workshop leader...he is awful. A side note about the driving, he is very dangerous as he texts while driving and passing on narrow winding roads. I do not normally write negative reviews but I feel in all fairness one needs to be forewarned.

After seeing amazing photos online of the Bolivian salt flats, I was highly motivated to travel there to create my own. In my search for a photo tour I came across Sergio Ballivian's name. The itinerary and the reviews of his tours sealed my decision. I traveled to Bolivia with three other friends for Sergio's early February 2020 tour. It was amazing! The high altitudes of Bolivia are breathtaking and Sergio knows where and when to go to get spectacular photos. I also really appreciated how Sergio pushed my creativity and got me to see things differently. Check out a few of my photos to see for yourself! I highly recommend Sergio and his tours!

There are no words to describe the beauty of Bolivia and the trip that Sergio arranged for my recent college graduate daughter and me. This trip was a dream for both of us and Sergio made the dream come true. His personal attention to detail, his knowledge of everything we saw and visited was more than what we could have ever asked for. Like any “bucket list” trip it take awhile to get there and being with a person like Sergio made the trip more enjoyable and worth every minute. When we got to the Uyuni Salt Flats it was magical and beautiful sun presented us with a light show like no other. The picture to Uyuni and the Salt Flats themselves were incredible. Just let Sergio lead you through this land of beauty and remember it through the pictures you take and in your memory forever! Thanks Sergio for all your amazing tour and friendship! I encourage those thinking about a trip like this to contact Sergio and he will take care of the rest. Salud!

Mind blowing vistas, high altitude dreamscapes and unforgettable moto adventures that make "long way around" look like kids play. What more could we ask for? From the moment we arrived to 10 days and over a thousand photos later, Sergio's guidance and leadership through the wilds (and a few cityscapes) of Bolivia was life changing. Bolivia has so much to offer and you simply must be led by someone who knows the culture, lives there, and can get you to the "secret spots" only he would know. Everywhere we went everyone we met knew Sergio and in turn he was able to get access to places nobody else could get us into. We traveled via motorbike from La Paz to Uyuni, and all places in between. From raw to jaw-dropping scenery and wildlife, to people places and friendly faces - we saw it all and archived our experiences with mind-blowing photos that we'll be sharing and fondly bringing us back in our minds to those places we love so dearly.
