Be very clear with what kind of Seat you purchase from this Company - Panasur.

We booked and paid for seats that can be adjusted, so you can lay down completely and sleep (180 degrees) and we were promised usb outlets and wifi.

What we Got was seats that could adjust to 160 degrees. Malfunctioning USB outlets and no wifi.

We only found out at the time of departure. And by that time you dont have any other choice but to Take the bus and accept the disappointing facts.

So be careful with this bus Company.

As it is difficult to find a place to review El Dorado as a company, I wrote my review here.
The day before we wanted to go to Cochabamba we went to the terminal to buy a ticket. The man at the El Dorado stand was very patient and explained to us (very slowly) that if we would come back the next morning our tickets would be a little cheaper. We liked his honesty and went with El Dorado to Cochabamba.
He was right. Instead of 70 bob pp. it was only 30 bob pp and no reservation needed.
The bus was a bit old and the seats had some stains, but it was not dirty.
We saw some comments about toilets being locked, but I went after 3 hours or so and it was open.
The bus driver drove safely. Our luggage was handled well, and we still had everything when arrived😉.
Only downside is that the bus waits quite a bit at a La Paz suburb and the lunch stop was long (but maybe the driver needed a break). However, our trip didn't exceed the time they told us it would be. We arrived right on schedule.

Very easy to book a bus ticket. Most bus companies can be found here. And most of them speak English.

You will NOT GET ANY SLEEP or comfort in this so-called “sleeper” bus, for several reasons:

1. Loud side-business: Our bus abruptly stopped at 2AM, to have a bunch of shady security people carry out a huge shipment of liquors, which was stored in the back of the bus on the 2nd floor. “Wake up dear passengers, we need to get drunk!”

2. Crazy driving: The driver rode very aggressively, so even though the chairs are 180 degrees reclining, you will be tossed around from start to finish. On top of this, he honked at every car he passed by. Why?

3. Shouting all night: Even if you’d tried to get the tiniest bit of sleep, the driver’s side-kick (on stimulants?) will SHOUT every stop along the way many times, even if that stop happens to be at 1 AM where not a single passenger has to get off.

4. No climate control: The bus was equipped with AC but for some reason this was not turned on. Saving a few Bolivianos at the cost of choking our passengers?

In conclusion, please DO NOT support this operator that puts anything above the comfort of their passengers. There are several other excellent bus operators in La Paz that will give you a much more pleasant ride for the same price.

We were at the bus terminal in La Paz and found it very safe, with police at the door, well organized with company counters, and also a currency exchange office inside the terminal, which was the closest to my hostel, with the best contact that we met on the day

A super well organized mess!!! There are booths everywhere, a lot of talk... get there early to avoid missing the bus. In the end it works out.
