Two of my Polish friends and I went from Cusco (good options for connecting flights by Amaszonas) to visit Bolivia. 4 days and 3 nights tour included: La Paz, Tiwanaku, Uyuni. By far the best was Uyuni and staying in Palacio de Sal made the experience unforgettable. Private car, private chauffeur, private guide is a luxury treat everybody should do. Perfect timing, far from crowd, lunch in the middle of salt desert, sunset photos session. Great drinks (you must try Bolivian wine - spectacular, especially Casa Grande Tres), great food (!) in the Palacio de Sal was a cherry on the cake for this trip. La Paz and Tiwanaku were great too, same people, same high quality of service and perfect organization. We felt very safe and taken care of every minute. Intense Bolivia is definitely top agency to consider when organizing a trip to this beautiful country. Highly recommended!

We traveled to Bolivia in August 2019 – our 101st country. We chose Intense Bolivia to customize a private tour of the Salt Desert and arrange a private bike trip down the ‘World’s Most Dangerous Road’. We were extraordinarily impressed with Intense Bolivia’s planning and execution. We had a fantastic time [far far better than a high end packaged tour from a top rated 5-star US based operator]. We found Intense Bolivia because they offered a two day version of the typical three day Uyuni Salt Flats. Working with Romina Rossell [she is actually based in Peru] was a easy and productive. She took our schedule constraints [starting day/time and departing day/time] and crafted the perfect itinerary. She carefully listened to our wishes and modified their standard itinerary accordingly. It took just two email iterations, which I think is a new record in efficiency. The day before our tour was to begin, while we were still in LaPaz, we were contacted by a local agent – SP? Ghishell Guachalla – who went over each aspect of the itinerary and gave us her cell phone number. This was the first indication this was a high quality first class tour. The first morning, a driver appeared right on time wearing a dress shirt and took us to the airport for a flight to Uyuni – another very positive impression. Once in Uyuni however there was no one to meet us, and there was no one to meet half the other tourists on the plane. Furthermore, there were no cars in the parking lot. About 5 minutes later a young man came running up to the airport and called out our name. He was our guide Vicente Ojeda. He explained that the Uyuni citizens were staging a protest and had blocked vehicles heading to the airport. So Vicente helped us carry our bag to our private 4WD waiting a half mile away. He further explained that it was not possible to do our itinerary as origionally planned due to more roads being blocked. He suggested instead we could do the entire itinerary in reverse with the added benefit of a better sunset experience. We very much appreciated his creative solution. The rest of the trip went smoothly. We got to see the railroad cemetery, a silver mining town, Dali’s valley, The Verde Lagoon, Laguna Colorada, Geysers, and unique rock formations plus a handful of other places. Our lodging was in a modest hotel Tayka del Desierto which seemed to be the only civilization for dozens of miles. The second day, we had some exceptional flamingo viewings, had lunch in the middle of the Salt Flats, walked up to the lookout on Incahuasi Island, saw the mummies of the Tunupa Volcano, and enjoyed a mirror experience on the Salt Flats. The day ended with munchies and a bottle of wine as we watched the sun set. The second evening was spent at Luna Salada an upscale salt block hotel. The entire experience was comfortable and first class. Thank you guide Vicente and driver Rodrigo Bautista for a great tour. And thankyou Intense Bolivia for contracting with such outstanding professionals. The third day we boarded early flights back to LaPaz and were met by staff from Gravity bike tours who accompanied us on a bike tour down the “World’s Most Dangerous Road”. Lead guide Neil Churchard and his drive and assistant guide Kenny treated us to a fun filled ride which is reviewed on the Gravity bike page of TripAdvisor. Once again we thank Intense Bolivia for selecting such an excellent company and excellent guide. Overall, we had a rather complex itinerary which Intense Bolivia planned and executed flawlessly. The cost for this bespoke adventure, even though it was fully private and involved two airplane flights – was less per day than we paid a US tour operator for a two-week-long group-tour of Titicaca and Illampu half with tent accommodations. Cost aside, Intense Bolivia delivered a far better experience than this leading US tour operator.

Salt flats were in our itinerary but time was limited, we contacted Intense Bolivia, and Romina Rossell sent us a personalized quote and itinerary, a one night, one day tour, it was perfect! We were picked up at Uyuni Airport by Rodrigo, driven to our hotel and picked up later to start our Night Tour Stargazing Spectacle, Day 2, we were picked up at about 9:00 a.m., we headed to the Train Cemetery , visited the town of Colchani where we saw the artisanal salt process. Then we headed to the middle of the Uyuni Salt Flat, where we visited the salt museum and climbed Incahuasi Island. By now, it was lunch time, we stopped and were served the amazing, and traditional lunch in the middle of the salt flat! After taking amazing pictures, we headed to the Tunupa Volcano and visited the Chantani Museum, there we saw a collection of mummies and artifacts dating back to 1200 AD! The highlight of the afternoon was returning to the salt flat for the sunset ... awesome views! We were served a delicious hot coffee by Rodrigo, when ready, we headed to the airport. All along we took beautiful pictures and Rodrigo and Vicente were patient to stop for good shots and explained all our questions. During the trip we were contacted by Ghisell to make sure all was in order. We would have never been able to enjoy the wonder of the Uyuni Salt Flats and its surrounding areas on our own ... Thank you Intense Bolivia! We highly recommend Intense Bolivia, a five-star service! Altitude was not a problem.

We booked a seven day tour with Intense. Everything went smoothly. All pick-ups and drop offs went without a glitch. They even have our boarding passes sent to the hotel without us asking. Service was five star! All sites in the itinerary were covered. Our guide Raul was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and he made the trip extra special. I only wish I could spend more time in such a dramatic and yet less toured place. Thank you, Intense.

My friend and I booked a trip with Intense Bolivia from Australia. Romina who we dealt with by email to make the booking was exceptionally good and helpful. We visited the salt flats, Eduardo Avaroa National Park, Potosi and then drove overland to La Paz. Our driver Mario was exceptional and the car was in great condition. Our guide Raul Piaggio was a delight to spend time with - he was funny, caring, intelligent and gave us a great insight into Bolivian history and culture. Before we went on the trip we were sick in La Paz and he went out of his way, even visiting us in hospital to make sure everything was OK. I can't thank him enough for making our trip so special. Bolivia is a great country with friendly people and stunning scenery.
