We did a 2 hour tour with Dimar to Lobos island. It was a fairly smooth boat ride out to see and swim with the sea lions. The boat seemed very cramped at first, but once we got out on the water, the captain allowed several people to climb out and sit on the front deck and then there was plenty of room for all. They dont speak much English, so don't expect a guided tour!

My girlfriend and I went with Dimartours to Ilsa de Lobos to go swimming with the sea lions. It was an unforgettable experience. It was a 45 minute boat ride to the island, after a 15 minute slow boat ride along the coast to see the sea lions we could swim for about 15 minutes before we took the boat back to Punta del Este. It is a bit expensive, 50 USD per person, but a once in a lifetime experience so definitely worth it! Don't expect any information about the sea lions or the island though, they just take you to the island, let you swim and take you back. Please not that there are only 2 companies that offer this tour and they both only go once a day at 12.00!

Thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed our tour. We are working in teaching English to our crew (some of them don't speak english) or have some kind of audio guide.. Regards Horacio

The island is about 40 minutes ride in a small boat. Some people felt seasick but most found it quite exciting. Once you arrive, the view is spectacular with many thousands of deals and sea lions swimming in the water and wallowing on the rocky shore. They have completely taken over this small island. We watched some large bulls intimidating each other on the cliff. Hundreds of sea lions were lazing in the water with one fin lazily extended. One of our group jumped in for a swim ( allowed) but the water seemed quite cold and the entrance / exit from the boat is better suited for younger people. Absolutely worth the reasonable price.
