Off on a road from the sea. A quiet entrance but then a wealth of art. Mostly outdoors and just a pleasant walk through the installations. Pablo A has works in progress and it's like visiting his studio. Leave enough time to hang around. The concerts here must be wonderful - an outside stage and a hall.

The landscape (luscious green grass, breeze tossed trees and dark blue pond) interspersed with some interesting sculptures made this a delightful afternoon. There were also 2 indoor galleries with sculpture or wall artwork, but none as satisfying as the natural setting.

While this is mainly the art of Pablo Atchugarry, it also includes many other artists. The setting is a magnificient garden plus two museum buildings. If you are lucky you'll even get to meet Pablo as we did. If you are interested in sculpture this is a can't miss.

The Fundación Pablo Atchugarry houses not only the studio of this celebrated Uruguayan sculptor, but also includes a superb installation of contemporary sculpture on the beautiful grounds, a gallery of his own work, and a larger gallery with special exhibitions of contemporary artists whom he knows. But the special treat was to meet, visit with, and watch the artist himself... More

We got to walk around the studio, and see where some pieces were being made, along with a collection of his work (he is a modern sculptor). Highlights were the outdoor collection of works by other artists in a large park-like setting, and,m the day we were there, one of the artists's sons was able to show us around and... More

The place is different, in a nice way. It is close but not in Punta del Este, you need a car to arrive here, but it is worth the trip if you have time to go. Check for events, they are well organized and worth going, the place itself is lovely, specially in the early evenings, when the sun is... More

...in Punta del Este. If you have even a cell of sensibility for arts, or if you do not know you could have it, just enjoy a rainy or cloudy day at the atelier of the great scilptor Atchugarry. Their sculture are beautiful and the set up as well. You will enjoy a great experience.

After visiting this peaceful sculpture garden I found myself noticing more sculptures around Punta del Este that I had overlooked. There is a great variety of styles and shapes and colors and materials here. There are amazing white marble sculptures done by Psblo Atchugarry and a great number of works by other artists. Don't miss the Foundation building where paintings... More
