The marina/port in PdE doesn't seem to see a lot of actual boat traffic, but it's a very pleasant place to for a walk and/or go to one of the many restaurants in the immediate area.

When you walk along this waterfront promenade, you could just as well be taking a stroll in southern France. Do not miss the moonrise in this quaint spot of Punta del Este!

This city is and was a beach resort in Uruguay. It is a beautiful and modern city with a nice small port. It is a tender port for cruise ships but has a lot of nice yachts. And this is a nice, safe place to stroll. Enjoy it.

This port was so romantic and nice. I loved people selling fresh seafood on the market and feeding greedy sea lions. It was unreal to see this in real life.

When you visit Punta del Este the first impression you get is wealth. Having travelled from Montevideo this was a real contrast in style and culture. The waterfront area is really clean, there is a beautiful walkway along the coast and an abundance of bars and restaurants to choose from. I can’t decide whether this place contradicts the rest of the country or is best viewed a place to escape to. Whatever, it is worth visiting.
