I was not so excited to know this, but when i got here(it was a sunny day in the winter) i was amazed, it is a great place to visit, and will allow you to take nice photographs if you like and also bring the kids along as there are a lot of sea lions and sea birds fighting for... More

Perfect sunset, organized, clean, some birds and the Lobos Marinos sharing the space. Worth to invest your sunset.

We were there in the off season. Most traffic signals were turned off.We took pictures by the "Giant hand in the sand"and ate at a chicken rotisserie nearby called Mucho Gusto.Temperatures were in the mid 40s and it was windy. There were many-maybe a hundred or two-condo and hotel towers there. This is a rich man's playground, and there were large yachts moored in... Drove down to the coastal town of Punta del Este, which is very popular for both Uruguyans and foreigners. It has lots of restaurant choices, various beaches, and good sightseeing and walking areas. Hear that it is quite busy in their summer months as models and jetsetters flock there; we went in the off season. Great sunsets! Nearby towns of... More

Cruise ships dock at all sorts of places--many times, ugly industrial shipping ports--so a pretty little gem like this is a treat. Broad, landscaped sidewalks line the harbor for a nice stroll, and an extensive seafood market will make you drool. Stroll past the lovely yachts or the row of authentic little fishing boats, speak with the men and women... More

It's a good view from the port, but the restaurants are incredibly expensive, slow, and the food isn't great.

The port is okay (nothing special) but if you want to go there, do it on your own and do not (!!!!!) book the day tour from Montevideo to Punta Del este!!! They're terrible!!! You just drive from one place to another (mainly shops or other touristic non interesting places that probably pay your guide) and don't get to enjoy... More

Small, sunny, with a well provided fish market of the local fishermen with today's catch. Huge variety of seafood in the raw for lovers and a budget serve yourself which caters to the turists from a beautiful terrace overlooking the "boca chica" of the bay where cruiseships are anchored and the near ny picturesque island Gorriti. At the marina you... More
