Punta del Este is a very nice and surprisingly large city on the coast of Uruguay. It is well worth seeing if you are in the area. The Fingers monument is very unique.

Didn’t have much time in Punta del Este so we booked this private tour so we could pack as much in as possible and not worry about the details. Had a great time. Picked up from hotel by our guide David who gave us the history of the area while we toured around. Stopped at the hand statue, drove up the coast a bit to La Barra and back to Casa Puebla. Packed a lot into a short time - could have used an extra hour. Best part - since it was private we stopped whenever we wanted to take photos.

Great Personalized tour of Punta de Este A friend and I were on a cruise from Buenos Aires to Rio, and had a stop in Punta del Este. We didn't know a lot about Uruguay. And we were a little concerned that we didn't know a lot of Spanish. Our guide, David, was great. He was an expat from Canada. and spoke English and Spanish fluently. We only had a short time in port. He met us at the dock, and we were off. We saw all the sights... including La Barra, los dedos (a large hand sculpture emerging from the beach) and finally took us to Casapueblo... a fantastic art galley and workshop overlooking the Rio de la Plata. He even gave a great wine recommendation. A lovely time. Highly recommended.
