We had an amazing time as a family cycling in the very peaceful cycle track. The best part is that there is a shop renting bikes for 30 dhs per hour. They even had a tricycle for my little girl. The track is divided into 8 kms, 16 kms and 32 kms. Signs are clear, the place is so peaceful... As we went Friday around 2 the shop was closed and opened at 3.30. You can follow their instagram account to know the exact working hours . It is L’oxygène. It was a great experience 😊

It is fairly difficult to find as you have to turn onto a road that says no entry!

There is ample parking and there is a shop there where you can hire cycles, albeit we had our own.
Got there for sunset and that is a beautiful thing to see as so clear.
The track signage is clear and you can do 8, 16 22 or 32 KM here and it is well lit on the main track around the outside and once you branch off no lighting.
No support once on track so would have phone and water with you.
A fantastic experience and what a facility to have and glad I made the effort to go out there.
No charge to use facility if you have own cycle, and there is a cycle shop at location.

The bicycle track is situated in Al Wathba and is about 42 km from downtown Abu Dhabi towards Al Ain road. The track has three circuits: 8 km, 16 km and 32 km there are signs showing the distances and is well lit. There is an ADNOC Oasis convenience store and a bicycle shop. It is missing first aid facility as the last time we visited one man had a nasty fall and it took a while to get the ambulance to arrive.

No sign posts, google maps tried to send us down sand tracks that were too difficult for my car and when we eventually found it, the bike rental shop was closed all day. I would like to try again to do this cycle at sunrise but I can't find any information about the bike rental shop online so can never be sure if its open.

Visited on a Saturday at 8AM and there were maybe 15 cars. Mix of runners and cyclists. I hired a Cube Peloton carbon cycle with normal pedals and a helmet, AED 40 for 90 minutes. There were probably 50 bikes available to hire, mainly drop handlebar and Cube or Willier so decent quality, they had some clip pedals and 20 or so helmets and a moderate stock of spares and things to buy. Shop has a 'sister' Besport in Mushrif Mall.
Circuit is well laid out and clearly signposted and has a few gentle hills; slight breeze also made elements a little harder. Surface excellent.
Marvin in the shop was really helpful and set up the bike pretty well. Cycle shop is open 4PM - 11 PM weekdays and same weekends plus 5-11AM. Shop has small stock of energy bars and gels but ADNOC Oasis immediately adjacent has full ration requirements.
Basic but functional showers and toilet facilities and lockers also on site. In actual fact the toilets and showers are very good, they could just do with a few benches for when you are changing.
GPS OK. I used Waze to get there which was fine. It was less helpful on the return so I ignored it as it wasn't taking most efficient route back to main Al Ain/Abu Dhabi road. 45 mins each way from Al Nahyan.
I'd certainly use it again for cycling and if I were doing bricks or transition training for triathlon but I wouldn't drive all that way just to run unless I was doing huge mileage.
All they need is a pool and it will be a great facility!

After 3 years in Abu Dhabi, I finally made it out to Al Wathba, and it is FANTASTIC. It's a little hard to find, so use Google Maps to help you get there, but the remote location also means that you get interesting views of the desert throughout the ride. There are varying tracks from 8km-30km, all clearly marked. The pavement is flat and smooth, and quite wide, especially on the shorter tracks. There are showers and bathrooms at the start, along with the convenience store and bike rental shop. I'll be back frequently!

I have been using Al Wathba Cycle track consistently now for the last 5 months since being taken there one Tuesday night to avoid the busy Yas Track night and ever since I have made this my default track of choice, there is a BeSports Cycle shop there with all you would require like bike rental, bike technician for those issues with your bike, the staff are fantastic and will always help, there is also an ADNOC Oasis onsite to get anything you need from water to phone chargers.

All in all a great track with multiple distances for the fun to training rides (8km,16km,20,km,22km,and 30km)

This is a wonderful and serial cycle track in the middle of the desert, about an hour's drive from Abu Dhabi. There are various track lengths, all exclusive to bikes, with this occasional jogger. Automatic night lighting along all routes. There is also a small convenience store, bike shop, changing and shower facilities, plus parking. It's a bit tricky to find without sat nav, but worth the trip.

One word of warning: don't be seduced by the tail wind. there's a fierce head wind on the return loop. Also, make sure you have all the kit you need in case you have a mechanical on the far side of the track. You may be 15k from help with few people to stop to lend a hand - lots of fluids, etc.etc.

A truly unique and fantastic cycling experience.

Al Wathba is about 40 minutes drive from downtown Abu Dhabi. It is a purpose built cycling track for the those who wish to ride in safety and without the fog of car fumes. The facilities are excellent with a 24/7 cafe (Cheap coffee) and a bike shop which will rent out bike for you very cheaply (30dhs per hour). Well worth a visit when the days are cooler or early/late in the day.

The loop can give you lots of option for distance and the elevation is not at all challenging (If you haven't exercised in 10 years, then its all relative). The loops goes from 30km,24km,20km,18km,16km,12km and 8km.

The only negative is that on the for the first and last stretch of the track can sometimes have a strong crosswind that will leave you out of breathe and battling for a few kms.

We decided to go to Al Wathba cycling track with my husband for the first time. We travelled from Dubai and the journey was long. Once, we reached closer to the cycling track, it got more confusing where to go. Anyway we found the place. It was a Friday. Very quite. There were a shop, a bike shop, toilets and showering rooms. So, we started to ride. It seemed easy at first and the wind was behind us. There are options to ride different distances. We went for 30km. After reaching 16 km the fun started. There were many small hills up and down. The wind was just in our faces. It was hard but it was so much fun. I like that the track was clean, so much wider than Al Quadra, very well lit. It was an amazing ride. After we entered the bike shop and the colleague who worked there was really knowledgable, professional and friendly. It is very far from Dubai but it was a great experience.
