Walk along the corniche, either in the day or night- it is relaxing...I particularly enjoyed the walk in winter, comfortably windy and not too cold. Chill place to people watch, spend time with family and a great location for a picnic. I guess you should...More

A great place in the evening for families. Good boulevard for a stroll. A small park where kids can play and enjoy themselves. Places for barbecue. Lots of small stalls around serving food.

Lovely stretch of sand - bit quiet when we were here but I’d imagine in summer it would packed with people trying to cool down. Lovely looking area that local authorities are trying to promote so good on them for that.

I had the pleasure of visiting the corniche beach in Abu Dhabi early this year however the visit was very short. I went for Dubai and then drove down to Abu Dhabi to visit the grand mosque then stopped by for food and visited the...More

Great beach, very clean with many shops and eating places. There are free public beaches or private beaches that cost AED10 to enter. Lifeguards every 25 mtrs and cordoned off swimming areas so no boats or jet skis to worry about.

The public beach is a great addition to Abu Dhabi life. I was originally on here in the 1980s and to be fair was rough and ready! With the building of the marina and enclosed waterway its a real haven in the cooler months. When...More

Nice beach, clean and safe. The beach is on a channel not an open sea experience so rather stagmant waters no waves and it tends to be more hot in the summer times and other beaches. But great way to relax in the city.

The beach was directly outside our hotel and easily stretched for 3-4km. It was clean, well kept, with good facilities and eateries dotted along the coastline. The sea was beautifully clean and bath water temperature, and was ideal for kids due to its soft sand...More

Yes it is very very safe we did walk many times when we were there. Over all in my opinion the UAE is a very safe and secure place so one need not worry. But it is always wise to be a little cautious of things. Sheela... More

Bus to Marina Mall & Heritage Village (3 Replies)
Is there public bus service to Marina Mall and Heritage Village? If yes, may I have the bus no, its route map and operating hours? If no, how do I get there from Al Marina bus stop? And how long does it take to walk there? And what would be the temperature (in degC) in Abu Dhabi, and specifically Marina and Corniche Beach area at night and early morning about 6am in mid May? Thanks for your input!

Budget hotel in Abu Dhabi or Dubai? (1 Replies)
After visiting Dubai several times, we are considering Abu Dhabi for a change. We are planning to visit from approx 22nd April for 4 -5 nights. Our budget is limited, so we are looking for a budget hotel with a pool, near the Corniche, beach and/or shopping areas? If this is not feasible, what areas/ hotels would you recommend for the middle age budget traveller? Your help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Abu Dhabi is more expensive than Dubai and there are no budget hotels that I would be able to recommend. What are the sort of hotels are you looking for (could you name the ones in Dubai that meets your requirements)? Depending on your response it might be possible to find something. But remember that April is still high season here. ILME

corniche public beach A.D.- Safe and Secure (3 Replies)
My wife and I are staying for over a week in May and while we are staying at a city centre hotel with pool ,we thought having a day at the beach and we were drawn to the Corniche Beach which had not been completed when we visited four years ago. So the question I ask is it safe for a middle aged couple to sunbathe during the day?. I see they have beach segregation which is good news which again increases public saftey, so my next question is . Is there any form of supervision to...More

Many thanks for the quick response. I have been looking at the Saadiyat Island facility and see it is run by the same company . We will probably end up going to both.
