Worth a visit

We weren't expecting much from this place but we were pleasantly surprised. You get to see some of the crafts of the area and talk to people actually making them. Engaging with the crafters made this a more memorable experience for us and they seemed to enjoy the fact that we were interested in what they were doing. There is a cute looking restaurant but we didn't eat there.

Cool way to unwind

There’s a free bus from the bus station going to the place which is 😎.

Only minimal amount of entrance fee worth 5 aed and one can enjoy the place especially for photoshoot 😊. Plenty of restaurants and other entertainment within the premises.

Visit to experience heritage
Dec 2020
If you go to global village already you will not enjoy here. For you will compare the two place. But, still heritage village is one of a go to place you must include in your list once you visit Abu Dhabi.

Nice day out

Lovely day out with the family. A less crowded version of Dubai's Global Village. Lots of places to eat and shop for local traditional items with some kids play areas.

Not a must go but a nice go to
Dec 2019
I would give this like a 3.5. It's not a must visit attraction like other places I went to such as Ferrari world/Warner Bros studios, but if you have some spare time and want to go to a free attraction I'd deffo recommend. Also I recommend it if you're having a lazy day and wanna just have something quick to do, me and my family only stayed for about 30 mins. Also it is on the Big Bus Tour which we were travelling on - the bus comes every 30 mins so it was a good filler activity while waiting for the next bus. The toilets are horrible, but there is a nice beach with good viewsa.

Visiting the past
Mar 2020
We visited Heritage Village as part of a tour. I wish we had had more time to spend there. It’s amazing to think that only a short time ago this is what Abu Dhabi was like. A really interesting place with a fantastic view across the water to the new skyscrapers and buildings.

Busy but very nice
Nov 2019
A collection of buildings housing historical articles about the Abu Dhabi and the emirates. Nicely laid out, telling the story of the village life as it was before the modern skyscrappers crowded the city. Free to enter, a must see if you are visiting Abu Dhabi

The old days

In Heritage Village you can see how the people lived in the past. It's nice for a short visit. From the waterfront you have a great view of Abu Dhabi.

Back to the past
Nov 2019
Heritage village is a fun way to spend a couple hours. As you enter the main gate to the left is an area set up to resemble life in the past in the desert. You will see a home similar to what was used in the past. There is also a camel who obligingly lets visitors have a ride. There is a row of souks selling quite a variety of merchandise as well. There is a museum of relics from the past. There is a beach with a great view of modern Abu Dhabi across the water. There are other live animals in stables for the children to enjoy. My favorite area is where craftsmen demonstrate their craft and have many lovely items for sale as well. There is leather craft, beautiful bags and other items, a glass blower, a weaver, a potter. Very interesting!

Don’t go out of your way
Feb 2020 • Couples
The Heritage Center gives you an idea of what life was like for the people prior to oil boom and subsequent modernization. Individual rooms show case various skills such as glass blowing, sailboat making, wood carving- only the latter was actually working the day we visited. All items are for sale. At the other end of the village is a market where women are selling the same souvenirs we saw in the souls in Dubai but without the bartering. Adjacent to this market are camels to pose with for a photo and a very small archeology museum. The best part is the sandy pathway leading to the water front beach. The view of Skyscrapers is pretty but second to Dubai. Don’t go out of your way to visit if time is limited.
