- Andrew J11 contributionsStroll Along the CornicheThe Corniche's picturesque promenade, stretching along the stunning Abu Dhabi coastline, offered us breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf. The combination of the tranquil waters, meticulously landscaped gardens, and the modern skyline created a truly enchanting backdrop for our romantic moments. As we walked hand in hand along the Corniche, we couldn't help but be captivated by the serene beauty of the surroundings. The well-maintained pathways, benches, and shaded areas made it an ideal place for a leisurely afternoon, allowing us to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The highlight of our visit was watching the mesmerizing sunset over the Gulf. It was a magical and romantic moment that we will cherish forever. The way the colors danced across the sky and reflected on the water was simply breathtaking. In conclusion, our visit to the Corniche in Abu Dhabi was a serene and romantic interlude during our stay for ADIPEC.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 8, 2023

A lovely big, sandy beach and well laid-out and maintained promenade. What’s not to like?Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 6, 2023

Decided to go backmtomthe car and just drove along the Corniche when the heat started bothering us. Highly recommended to visit it in the early morning or late afternoon to enjoy its ambience.Visited November 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 21, 2023

- good_antsDoha, Qatar644 contributionsBeautiful heart of Abu Dhabi.Abu Dhabi's corniche is varied, looooooong, and truly beautiful! We rented those little scooter things and cruised the entire length seeing: nice little food/tea kiosks, restaurants, and a huge, public beach. Certainly worth a walk, scooter/bike, or swim if you have a few hours. Recommended.Visited November 2023Traveled with friendsWritten December 8, 2023
- Aiza StevanovicCacak, Serbia65 contributionsAmazing place to walk and enjoyI really loved to run there, perfect for a jog. Another day I went to the beach and again had an amazing walk to the beach and back. There was MOTN fest while I was there and that was again great experience to walk to destination with a nice view. Overall many interesting things along the way and everything sightseeing is around the area.Visited January 2024Traveled soloWritten January 10, 2024
- Igor SToronto, Canada19 contributionsExcellent accommodation in Abu DhabiMy husband and I really like this hotel. It's the third time we've stayed here. Located right in the center of Corniche embankment. The rooms are large, comfortable and bright with views to the Persian Gulf. Buffet breakfasts were very tasty and varied, there was plenty to choose from. I also liked the spacious gym. I would like to highlight the hotel staff. At the reception we were always greeted by friendly, helpful and polite Teddy, Zahir, Rhea and Prajina. They are always responded quickly to all requests from the client. I would like to note the courtesy and hard work of housekeeper Anip Kumar, and the high professional manners and attentiveness to the client concierges Bilal and Hemraj. Professional team, great hotel, and a wonderful stay. We will certainly come back here again.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 20, 2024
- Kat kEmirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates68 contributionsBeautiful Walk and clean amazing Beach especially on a morning or eveningI have been here a few times, all different months. Obviously it is better in the winter season, Oct to April as it is cooler and you get a nice breeze from the sea. I have walked the full 8km, stopping on the way for water, juice, ice cream etc.. My favourite it to walk along the Beach side and at every underpass go to the other side of Corniche main road, here there are different parks with beautiful greenery. Each underpass has ac so they are nice and cool to walk through. It is kept very clean and does get busy on an evening all year round with families and groups, all gathering for picnics etc… it is a very social place, comfortable and of course never any trouble. I would feel comfortable walking the Corniche at 3am if I wished to do so, soaking in the city. I am surprised at (mainly UK people) saying it is nothing special. I think they would probably enjoy Dubai more. Abu Dhabi, the Capital, is a steady calm place. Dubai is quite the opposite.Visited August 2024Traveled soloWritten August 3, 2024

The Corniche is 8km long and its easy to think the distance can be covered on foot but in the heat of AD it becomes a chore. We walked from the Sofitel Hotel to Gate 5 of the Public Beach and still couldn't see the end of the Corniche. Its prob best covered by pedal scooter or bicycle if you want to get a feel for Abu Dhabi on foot but how to hire them was a mystery for us, so we chose Shank's pony instead ! The beach had WCs and changing rooms and a small bar for drinks. 2 chairs & an umbrella was AED 52 ( approx ÂŁ10) but there's no charge to just sit on the beach with your own towel. We had an entrance ticket from our hotel. We only stayed 2 hours as it was getting hotter & we had planned to take the hotel's shuttle bus back at 2.30pm. All in all, quite pleasant !

Its a great idea- a long/ wide stretch along the cost line dedicated to pedestrians, bars and restaurants. However 1. a big highway runs alongside it. Having in mind most cars are large SUVs I'm pretty sure air quality is awful, 2. its quite difficult to get a taxi between the big hotels (can be 30 min on foot from each other) and 3. bicycles and electric scooters share the same space with pedestrians making it not very safe, especially for children. What's the point to go for a long walk with the kids if they can't safely run around?

I live minutes from the Corniche and my family loves to walk along the path in the winter and enjoy both the free and paid-for beaches depending on our specific requirements of the day. For example, if we want to play basketball or spend the whole day there we'll pay the 10 p/adult and 5 p/child for the paid area instead. It's always completely empty, though disappointing that you have to pay extra for loungers and shade.

It is nice to take a stroll late afternoon ; gaze at the glitter-skyscrapers on one side of the busy 8-lane boulevard and the sunset over the beach on the other. The Corniche goes for 8km, so you won't walk it up and down. There are bicycles and scooters you can rent to assist you, should you want to see the lot.
There are plenty of restaurants and cafes along the beach, but you better mortgage the children before you order - high end spenders only.

One should definitely stroll down the Corniche once in Abu Dhabi.
Whether you go to the beach, have a breath of fresh air or want to do some exercise (walk, jog, bicycle) this promenade is the right place for you.
The long stretch (with several green parks situated along the road) offers great views of the bay and Marina Skyline, a few cafes and ice cream parlours as well to sit down and relax.
It seems to be popular with local families since there're some decent facilities provided both for children and adults, plus it's basically open 24/7 meaning people can stay up till late.
I popped out to check (the privately owned) strip of the beach and had a good swim for half an hour or so. The water was pretty much OK and the place was totally safe as well. Recommended!

While we stayed at the St Regis on the Corniche we decided to go for a walk as the weather is beautiful this time of the year.
The Corniche is basically the waterfront of Abu Dhabi, it has a long stretch on the waterfront, beautifully landscaped with walk ways and bicycle lanes. A few cafes as on the walk which is so beautiful and relaxing. You can even rent scooters and return them to various pick up locations.
Definitely try it out.

The Corniche really holds its reputation, and when you know that you're going get your space, be it within families or just a moment to yourself - it's the place to go. When I went it was busy, people were strolling, meeting up with friends, roller blading, it's lively and a reminder that people just want to get out and get fit.
The Corniche is a long stretch of sand, park and so you can enjoy the beach and go for a nice long walk afterwards as well.

Sorry, I don't really get it. It's a seaside walk with very little facilities until you get the the Emirates Palace end. I would highly recommend Ray's Bar in the Etihad Towers though, happy hour Sunday-Thursday 6pm-9pm. Just don't order the cone of fries which are 55AED (ÂŁ12), so about ÂŁ1 per chip :-)

When can I park car near to Corniche and spend some time ?, may be walking , may be public beach...
Thanks
Written November 22, 2019
Hello Dear Sarkar,
You may park your car for free in the public car park near the Nations Towers then cross the Cornich Road into the beach & the fabulous stretch of gardens and cyclic & walking lanes. You may also stop for a bite and drinks from the many shops at very affordable prices. Hope you’ll visit Abu Dhabi soon and during these coming months where the weather is so great for outdoor activities. You’ll love it

Anywhere around here where I can leave baggage and walk around for few hours? Thank you.
Written October 12, 2018
Hi.There are no such services. However, if you are travelling you can stay at one of the Hotels right on the Corniche to start your walk without worrying about your bags. If you are in few hours you can keep your bags in your car. It is very safe. Enjoy walking, especially starting from this season.

We are planning to visit the Corniche when we are in Abu Dhabi in October. The Corniche seems quite long ! Where would be the best place to start a walk and finish - taking in the sights and perhaps some nice restaurants along the way?
Written September 11, 2018
You can start at Emirates Palace and the Rulers Sea Palace and walk for several miles towards the port. Nicest restaurants are clustered at SouthWest end around Etihad Towers/Hilton/St Regis/ Emirates Palace
