The space houses a permanent exhibition that shows people some of the plans for Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Island. Quite impressive. From time to time it also houses temporary exhibits and workshops which are very interesting. After the visit, try Fanr, the restaurant. Very nice food and nice ambience. Sit outside if weather permits.

It's a fun place to visit with alot of activities and fun workshops for kids and couples and families. There are various events that take place in Manarat Al Saadiyat too and it's has art galleries and exhibitions with free cinema as well.

Setup in a nice location, if you are fond of art, science and culture events then this should be the definite visit place in your list as there is a likelihood of getting events running across the year. Having saadiyat beach nearby is plus for Manarat al Saadiyat.

We came here during Abu Dhabi Family week to see Ping Fong/Baby Shark Live. The venue was nice however this show was disappointing. We paid £130 for 3 tickets to discover the organisers had rearranged the seating plan, we were able to obtain a partial refund. The merchandise was ridiculously priced, a small Ping Fong toy for nearly £30.

Very nice and quit place to visit. Small exhibition of aerial pictures. we enjoy a mango ice crime on the Salt shop.
Need 1 hour to make a tour plus enjoying a ice cream.
There is also a restaurant but we dont try it.
The garden look clean and green, but the hot weather is a brake for enjoying the garden.
Bad point: the coffe corner was closed.
Good point the ecposition is free and there is so many exhibition all the year

From its ultra modern ambience to its sporadically placed art exhibits, this museum is destined to be a showplace. Right now it is used for demo purposes with an occasional art exhibit or work of art.
The video presentation on the semi-circular screen is worthy of Disneyworld. It definitely makes you want to return.

Its basically a museum sort of thing with all the master plans of Saadiyat Island are on display. Mostly to let people know how the Govt planning to make the Saadiyat Islnd into a cultural district.
Most of the planned structures like, Louvre, Sheikh Zayed Museum are already under construction and sooner may be a reality but a visit to this place will give you an idea regarding how the island is going to be in future

Manarat al Saadiyat is a lovely museum when it has something to show. The only permanent exhibit starts off as a history lesson on Abu Dhabi and ends as an advertisement for Saadiyat Beach Villas. The two times I visited, there were only 2 pieces of art on display, one outside and one in front of the Cafe. Had there been even a FEW items of art, I could justify another star. I hope something more permanent finds a home there until the Guggenheim and Louvre open.
The restaurant, Fanr, is nice but very pricey. We four noshed on an order of hummos and and order of fries and had 4 coffees at over 200aed (54$). The place is tucked up near quite a bit of construction at present. My advice is to check the Abu Dhabi Weekly and go if there is an exhibit that intrigues you... otherwise, skip it and come back to Abu Dhabi when our other museums open.

How to go there by public bus? Any idea what is the bus number?
Written April 20, 2018
I caught the bus but do not remember number now but caught it from Dusit Thani hotel - it goes via the Bus Station. Getting there I went to the Louvre first then caught another - they are not very regular so you need to plan your journey. The bus station is a wealth of information and you need a card

Can we roam around there?
Is there any restaurants/coffee shops around or nearby?
Written December 3, 2017

Is there any way to get there by public transportation?
Written October 9, 2015
I am not sure that the metro goes there. You may want to check and see if it goes to St. Regis hotel as that is right nearby and you could just walk to it (if it is not May-Oct). Taxi fair is not bad in Abu Dhabi though so that would probably be the easiest method of getting there.
