Ladies enter through a separate entrance must cover your head and remove your shoes. Amazing architecture. Such a good experience.

We had a long layover at Abu Dhabi Airport so we decided to use our time to visit the Grand Mosque. Only ten minutes by taxi from the airport, it was easy to get to. We went there via the Shangri La Hotel (where we had breakfast first) & the taxi cost around 15AED. We were one of the first... More

Beautiful and peaceful place of worship. Visited just before sunset, hence able to see the beauty of both day and night. Must visit when in Abu Dhabi.

A must visit if in Abu Dhabi. This is one of the most extraordinary man made structures I've ever seen. It's truly stunning. Be sure to wear conservative clothing, although you can borrow them there, this does take time.

A must visit venue irrespective of which one of the seven Emirates you are visiting. Make sure you see the magnificent Persian carpet – it's one of the largest in the world. Remember to dress modestly and act respectfully, this is a mosque not a palace or a castle.

The first time I visited in January 2016 - there was no security screening and no one asked me to wear an abaya. Therefore the entrance was easy and fast, no queuing, and no change of clothes. The second time I visited in September 2016. It was packed with security guards and they didn't allow us to walk in the... More
