This is the first F1 event i have attended so was a little apprehensive.
The good bits:
I had a seat overlooking the start finish line which was excellent with views of the pit lane and a large screen TV to follow the race. You also get to see all the race build up.
My 3 day grandstand pass got me access to the pit lane walk on the Thursday which is well worth doing.
The Yas circuit was spotless and well organised, toilet facilities are good and clean.
Security checks were bizarre, Bags going through an xray machine with no signs of checking contents??? all a bit odd tbh
Access into and out of the circuit was good, Gate 18 is the main stand entrance.
There are plenty of food outlets in the fan zone, typical f1 prices for food thou, and alcohol very expensive. All food and drink is brought with a proximity card which are given out and pre loaded with credit. The system actually worked quite well.
The not so good bits:
My hotel was in Abu Dhabi which is ok but a 30min taxi ride (taxi's are cheap in Abu Dhabi but cash only) and getting a taxi on the Sunday evening after the f1 was not easy.
At the end of the race the proximity card refund stands were inundated with people wanting a refund. Huge queue's for this so best to use all the credit up or get a refund before the start of the race when the refund stands are not busy.
The race itself was a bit of a procession, but as an f1 fan being sat opposite the pits and at the heart of the action and also getting to walk down the pit lane was amazing and well worth it.
Tips:
Buy you f1 merchandise online before you go, its half the price than at the circuit!
If in the grandstand opposite the pits, try to get a seat at the top of the stand as your more sheltered from the sun during the day.

Whether an F1 fan or not for the ultimate experience the final race of the f1 season is a must for the spectacle as well as where it is.

All covered grandstand seating gives a good view of the circuit. In every area there is an Oasis where one can chill out, eat & drink between on track activities.

Security is tight & can be wearisomely repetitive if accessing prior to the allotted entry gate shown on the ticket. Showing the digital ticket every time sucks power from the phone so either ensure fully charged or have a power pack at the ready. Ticketing is all digital via an app which does drop out causing temporary loss of tickets. This is a problem as the circuit free Wi-Fi is totally dysfunctional & unobtainable craeting the problem of re downloading the app. Find a circuit helper or an Ask Yas person with a hot spot on their device who can then allow you to re access the app. It always happens just as one is trying to enter the grandstand !

The internal bus shuttle is OK but confusing as the drivers do not speak English & to a certain extent do not know each drop off in detail. Unfortunately asking questions of the myriads of helpers around the circuit sometimes also does not extract the correct information that one requires!

All transactions at the circuit are card only & prices are high ish. A beef burger is 60UAD = £13. In comparison the taxi ride from down town Abu Dhabi to the circuit is worth one & a half beef burgers !

A Taxi to the circuit is as stated about 60UAD. Return after 22:00 is about 100UAD. Beware of meter scams, If the driver begs forgiveness for not activating the meter then under the Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport System rules the ride is free. Sticker on side of taxi rear window gives all the info. One poor passenger fell for the meter not on scam which cost 400UAD !

The after race concerts are worth attending as they are part of the package. The external shuttle busses are not worth the trouble as they are usually packed. Walking from the South Grandstand which is the farthest point from the concert park takes only about 30 minutes.

After the concert the taxi system works well but be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes in line for a cab.

What a fabulous venue and great event. There was an amazing vibe in Abu Dhabi with this event. Such a great city and so nice to be part of it. Great view of the race at the Ramusake lounge in the W hotel.

If you have never been to a Grand Prix then you must go. Being there is a world away from watching it on the Tv. The atmosphere and the noise is fantastic and the speed is a lot faster in real life.

Biggest draw back is the prices £11 for a pint and £45 for a baseball cap with your hero's name on it £30 for a T-shirt. But where else are you going to get them A must for every petrol head.

Great days out. Had 3 day pass for Abu Dhabi hill. Great views of the track but no shade which wasn’t too bad as race was late afternoon. Lots of security at varying points but moved quickly through. Food and drink reasonably priced and of really good quality. Plenty of loos they were clean and replenished. Down side to the hill is missing out on the start finish action and driver photo opportunities.

We went for an evening walk around the track!
It took us a long time but it was a great thing to do and experience.
Make sure you wear comfy shoes and take plenty of water!

Worth a look to say you have been! Was able to walk through what the F1 drivers and the rich can afford!

Ok, it’s no the apotheosis of F1 Ethihad Grand Prix, but not many know that besides the race it’s a place to visit. Every Sunday and Tuesday from 6 to 10 pm Yas Marina Cirquit is open for cycling and running. The bicycles provided for free, just need to be registered, online or on the spot. They have racing and hybrid bikes, also for kids and teens, all sizes. Recently the fleet was renewed. The atmosphere is very nice, motivating, dynamic, many come on regular basis. I always recommend it to my guests - it’s iconic place and a chance to switch from food and drinks to something more active ; ) See you on the track then, they resume it in one week after the race

Have visited for the second year in a row. First year was Abu Dhabi Hill and this year south grandstand. Quite liked both but there’s no shade on the hill (you can’t take umbrellas either in case they blow onto the track). There are designated beer garden areas - drinks were cheaper this year but still pricey (around 50aed). If you don’t have a parking pass you can park at Yas Mall and walk down (about 20 minutes).

Also visited the after race concert, there is a place where you can hand in items not allowed in such as cameras, selfie sticks etc and then collect afterwards. The first year was such a long wait that we left our stuff and went home, this time was super fast! Getting home is always lots of traffic and queuing etc. Would advise leaving before the end..:
