A separate exhibition space, the Al Riwaq Art Space, only houses temporary exhibits.

Presently, the art space is hosting an exhibition by Jeff Koons. The layout of this art space is different from the museum of Islamic art, although it occupies the same grounds as the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA). The space was very well set up and brightly lit.

There's a very calm atmosphere to the exhibition, which is thought-provoking and intriguing.

I went for “What about art ? Exhibition of Contemporary Chinese Art” and the exhibition was great. I see their exhibitions change often, every time I am in Doha there is something new usually, which is good. I like to come here for a cup of coffee as well before my flight - I can combine both work and pleasure. Exhibitions are usually free of charge. A good spot in a great location.

This is a gem of a gallery located steps away from the Museum of Islamic Art. Exhibits change frequently and they are always well curated and worth seeing. I thoroughly recommend making this part of your visit to the MIA.

Last week I visited this gallery to see the exhibition of contemporary Chinese artists. A wide variety of artists were presented, from relatively newcomers, to video game design, to sculptors and painters. I really enjoyed the exhibit and was particularly impressed by the room filled with small unrefined clay figures in scenes of everyday life, and by the backlit Chinese landscape "painting" made from unusual objects. The video game display was interactive and the documentary explaining the design philosophy made me appreciate elements I hadn't noticed before. This exhibit is well worth a look. There is no entrance fee, and it is a short pleasant walk through gardens from the Islamic Art Museum nearby.

Most of the time it is the place for well known contemporary international artists to showcase their entire work or a large part of it. What is amazing is that it is here in Doha that this is happening and not in London, Paris or New York. It always interesting and thought provocative. I have seen all the last exhibitions in the past 3 years.

💚Every day I used to pass by at this road and the galleries car images always get my attention. Visiting museum always made my day... Once again, I treat myself to one of the things I loved to do.... and trust me it's all worth the visit... Driven by German design is on going until 14th of January 2018. So all travellers out there, it's a place you must visit, must see and must experienced. The exhibition traces the development of German design over more than six decades, from the 1950’s to the present day and provides a glimpse into the future. Amazing exhibit, from luxurious cars, cameras, cutleries for aircraft Lufthansa, wardrobe and the best part of exhibit I enjoyed is the Sound Laboratory... why? See it for yourself.. It will surely entertain you to the 10th power.☺️ Can't wait for my next visit...
