A fascinating archaeological site which relates to the ancient pearling industry. The air-conditioned information center is very informative with small but relevant displays. The fort is an hour out of town on good roads. There was no shop facility o take water etc. Well worth the effort to visit this UNESCO world heritage site

The fortress is with less than 90 years quite young and historically not important but it accommodates a museum well worth seeing.

I went with business but you could be a family. i liked the contrast between the new city and the very old fort. tastefully arranged and with enough interesting details. Nice cafe for coffee and cakes by the sea.

This is a pretty cool place to go, and see for historical value. It isn't over the top, but worth seeing if you have a day to see the older sites.

Must visit the place in the evening. The light and boats make the place more beautiful. One of the tourist stop in Doha.

Excellent place to go to educate yourself on the history of this country...there is a small trailer with artifacts found on the archeological site...the camel ride is fun...very hot area, but the beach is close, so go for a swim after the tour...now don't expect "the pyramids of Egypt" or "Teotihuacan from Mexico" just keep an open mind about it...

For those trying to establish where some of pictures indicated are referring to, the walled fort with the cannon outside is actually ZUBARAH fort, located adjacent to the world heritage Zubarah site. People often assume this is the "Doha" Fort that is more commonly used in destination photography. It is not in Doha, but in the North West, approx 90... More
