Not very impressive to be honest, the buildings itself seems to be typical Arabian style, at night you will find the buildings with nice light. During the day not very much to see, all the birds and sellers are in there shops. We didn’t want to disturb them, so entered no shop. Probably they are not waiting for tourist. We could not find an info point or anything equal, so just walked through.

This Place is closed the Waqif Market, but during day time, less chance to meet the Arabic man with their pets Falcon. Most falcon will wear a special hat cover their eyes to avoid attack people. I walked in a falcon hospital introduced by local person. see a lot falcon are queuing up for the calling just like human.

I didn’t realize that this review had been in the draft for so long. I forgot to post it. I had a chance to meet and greet the Falcons. I came here at the end of the day. Still hot in June, so nobody was around at the time. They let me hold and placed one of the Falcons on my wrist. At first, the guy who gave the Falcon to me put a blind on it, and I asked whether he could open the blind, and he did. The Falcon was ok but looked at me in disbelief. There’re many falcons to choose from, either to hold or take photos with. It was a great experience as I’ve never been near any falcon before. They’re pretty unique and beautiful too.

The Falcon Souk is adjacent to Souq Waqif in Doha with lots of underground parking on site and a must see place for visitors and residents alike. Falconry is more than just a sport in Qatar and the Souk is an important centre for enthusiasts and suppliers of the sports accessories and a place where birds are auctioned for high sums. The Souk is predominately made up of shops selling the birds and equipment as well as a purpose built hospital. Only need 1 hour to visit but essential part of a visit to the main Souq Wafiq. Even for a resident who hasn’t visited for some time, it’s still an interesting place to revisit.

This place was a neat experience. The shop owner was very welcoming and told us all about the falcons that he had for sale. He also showed us some that he was keeping for individuals. The falcon hospital right across from the shop was very interesting as well.

Falcon hunting is a strong part of the Qatari Arabic culture. The Falcon Souq is part of Souq Waqif, the big and very interesting new souq of Doha. This is were you can buy a Falcon and take your Falcon even to the Falcon hospital. It was great to visit the Falcon shop together with a Qatari host. A really good hunting Falcon can be pretty expensive. And on Qatar Airways First Class, your Falcon can fly with you!

Thus is an amazing place and offers everything from the intoxicating aroma of herbs and spices to antiquities and exquisite jewellery. One could quite easily spend a day here just exploring!!
Opposite is the gold Souke and we didn't even get there!
Handsome men on horseback will enthrall you whilst they parade up and down whilst you enjoy a coffee and the sights...

Believe it or not, it took me 6 days of looking to find this place, and by then it was almost too late. This place is not far from the boutique hotel in the Souq Waqif - you walk past the mini roundabout, past the small (beautiful mosque) and carpet shops, and you eventually find it.
I first visited during the day - everything was shut. Returning late at night, most of the shops were closed, BUT, I was able to visit one shop and see the falcons and the falcon accessories. I wasn't confident enough to talk to the shopkeepers, but it was worth exploring - particularly for the architecture, which looks STUNNING when lit up at night.
I was stunned to find a Falcon Hospital here! Although didn't go in ...
Next time in Doha, I'll try n visit between 6PM-10PM ... would be curious to hear other people's recommendations for good times to visit.

When we went to the souk, at first we couldn't find it, even though we followed the map! At the hotel we asked what happened to it and it turned out that it was now part of the "new souk". So when you go to souk waqif just find the newest area. If you come to a horse riding ring you are in the right area, it's just opposite it. (the horses are also worth a visit, they are the Arab horses of one of the prince's of Qatar. And they are gorgeous!)
The guys at the Falcon Souk are all super friendly. They explained us the history of falconing, how to birds get there and what they are used to. We were showed how to handle them and were allowed to try handling several birds and observe Qatari negotiate about a falcon.
A true piece of Middle-Eastern heritage, and worth the visit!
Tip for the women: try and wear clothes that cover most of your arms and down to your knees

Hi, I currently have two (2 month old) falcon chicks. I'm living in Iran and I can take the chick to Kish island. Do you buy falcon chicks? and what is your price?
If the price is fare, I cane provide more.
the chicks are docile. I can provide photos.

Hello - I’d like to visit in my Doha layover, but I keep finding different hours of operation.
I will land on a Saturday at 6pm - would there be anything to see on a Saturday night after about 7pm? Or will everything be closed?

Hello
All shopping malls are opened till 23 pm. The touristic place Souq Waqif too. You can buy food, souvenirs there. From there easily for you to be on Corniche and have a glance of the city’s skyline. You have the metro service which covers the main areas such as Souq Waqif or Katara it some malls.
