Ive was living In Dubai for 3 years and visited ODC 13 times. a week there is like a month any where else in the world. One of my fav places on the planet and compared to all accom its the most cost effective and with fresh lobster at 15 reals (20 quid) your in for a treat - the bar is a great place to meet other travelers and divers

Great outfit for diving and snorkeling in a wonderful location. Helpful and friendly staff speaks good English and are happy to accommodate. We especially enjoyed the clear water near Sifah. The boat was comfortable and the cool drinks very welcome. This time we went snorkeling, but there are also excellent diving sites in the area, which we tried before.

Oman Dive Center is on a secluded, private beach next to the Shangri-La Resort. We spent about 35 OMR (~€65) on a one day diving experiance. As complete novices, we had a relaxed and fun introduction to diving from Ken (Scottish man with a great sense of humour), including a number of rudimentary exercises in the pool. After a quick lunch (not included) went out on the boat to the 'novices bay' where we were up to 6m deep for nearly 30 minutes and saw a moray eel, puffer fish, lion fish, squid and shark droppings (later found out these are actually sea cucumbers!). All kit was included and I though this was the highlight and bargain of my stay here.

We did not stay at Oman Dive Center so we cannot comment on the quality of the resort. However, we will not book dives at Oman Dive Center in the future. Everything from the booking was chaotic. Several persons were in contact with us, and they were not always aware of earlier communications. Our diving experience was the worse ever. The guide was unfriendliest, someone who should never work with customers. She yelled all the time. When we had asked about the visibility before the trip, they indicated that it was good. However, once we got there, they had another story saying that visibility had been bad for a couple of weeks. It was indeed horrible, 2 to 3 meters. Underwater, our guide swam very fast each time, not at all interested in showing things to us, and of course, with a visibility of 2 to 3 meters, we lost her. On our second day, we asked her to swim slower, but we lost her again, and this time, she also lost our newly-certified friend who was her buddy. What is worse is that she did not follow what we had agreed to do in case we get lost underwater, she did not surface after searching for one minute. Our friend who did her OWD was even considering dropping diving altogether, so bad was her experience with ODC. Fortunately, right after getting her certificate, we had the pleasure of diving with another center.

A piece of paradise on earth! Stayed in a Bungalow with direct seaview. Bathroom are open air and the view is stunning. Very friendly staff and good food. Different buffet dinner everyday and good choice of food for breakfast as well. The place could be a bit renovated in some parts (aircon, lights, etc.). No Wifi, but it is even better to disconnect for a peacful holiday

My friends decided to meet here for lunch. Although the camel burger was fine my meal was spoiled because I had to pay the equivalent of $10 US in order to get to the 'nothing special' area to buy my food. I understand that those who want to use the beach etc. should pay but surely those who just want to dine should not be charged for the privilege. Incidentally, on the evening i met an ex-pat from the US in a club in Muscat who was raving because he had experienced the same!! .

We took our 16 year old son and went with a friends who had a baby and a 11 year old. Quite a long way out of the main Muscat but worth a visit. Cost us 3OMR per adult to get in because it was the Omani weekend - normally 1.5OMR on any other day. Great location right on the beach. Sandy beach, which sloped gently down into the sea and you could go out quite a way before you were up to your waist. Not great for snorkelling on the day we went. Restaurant was superb, Great food, very reasonable and the Prawn salad was outof this world.! There is a pool which you can use if it is not being used for diving lessons. All in all well worth a visist if you have a car and fancy a relaxing day by the sea.

First time I came to Oman, these guys showed up early to my hotel and left without me....This has NEVER happened to me in ten years of diving.

Second time I went to Oman, I tried to arrange for a dive. Zee German gentleman who answered the phone was rude, obnoxious and a complete jerk. Thanks but no thanks!

There will not be a third time!

The place is amazing. I tried staying a day in the Oman dive centre resort too with friends. The villas are comfortable. The beach is really beautiful and with a glass of beer from the outdoor bar, every seem perfect. But this place really needs some well trained staffs. The staffs are neither hospitable or friendly. All a guest expects is a friendly and helpful staff.

This place is magical! To spend the day there you will pay 4 O on weekends and 2 OR on weekdays per person. It's really a wonderful place to swim and you can feel free to wear a bikini (don't have to cover up). Taxi's will take you there for about 8OR, it's a private beach and the only place worth swimming as a tourist as far as I am aware.
