We stopped by Hannah Mitri to taste the best ice cream made in Beirut. I opted for lemon and my sister chose rose water, both are sorbets with no additives, no milk and no colorant added. This artisanal ice cream shop is truly a must try, don’t miss it! Find more pictures on my Instagram (kelledstyle) and more info on my blog ;-)

This was on my list since i have decided to come to Beirut and i was not disapointed at all!!! Best sorbet in the world !!! The pistachio was yummy with bits of pistachio nuts and strawberry...frozen strawberries not to mentio rose water and lemon. I like that it is simple corner shop what you can easily overlook or pass by without noticing if there is no line in front of it. Went there twice per day, morning and evening 😆 i would say that this is must see / taste thing in Beirut.

Dont call it vanilla here, cause thats not what it is. Its milk. I've heard this angers the owner, who has a reputation for being unfriendly. I would say that if your overly nice to him and compliment the ice cream, he will be happy.
So, this is one of the best places I've been for ice cream, and in the top 3 ice cream places in the world.

It's a tiny place, easy to miss, but if you look closely you'll see people with ice cream. Follow the trail of happy people.

What makes this place do good? Fresh made, real ingredients, care and love for the product they produce. It is also fairly priced, with 2 scoops costing under $3. It's a steal!

I opted for a duel chocolate and strawberry mix. I'm not usually a strawberry ice cream fan and I tend to avoid it. Hands down, both the strawberry and chocolate were the best I've ever had. It was so good that I went back in for another round, this time trying the apricot and milk, and I was given some lemon flavor on top as a bonus. While these flavors were tasty and well made, they weren't as good as the first two I had. The milk flavor has pine nuts mixed in, which does step it up a bit.

All in all, I was very satisfied. I will make it point to visit again before I leave Beirut. I highly recommend you do as well.

The best in lebanon especially the almond flavor
Unfortunately he runs quickly out of stock for certain flavor and he doesn't offer ice cream on certain weeks where he is busy preparing other seasonal Arabic sweets like Maamoul for Easter.

Went out of our way to sample the ice cream at this shop. Maybe my expectations got the better of me but the ice cream was good but probably not worth the effort to track down unless you are already in the area. Tried the strawberry, lemon, caramelized almond and pistachio. The lemon is more sorbet like and tart. The caramelized almond had a weak flavor.

An old icecream parlor in Achrafieh area in Beirut... It is a very small place... No seats available... You may take out your icecream or have it there... There are a few flavors... I had pistachio and chocolate flavors... They were delicious... It is made in a Lebanese authentic traditional way of making icecream... It is not cheap... It is highly recommended!!!

It takes a long time to find the ice cream shop. But we noticed it from long distance already cause of big queue.

We stayed there for 1 hour maybe to try all the flavors. We couldnt get enough. For me the best was pistachio one. And i really mean pistachio ice cream. Not some flavor of it.

We talked to owner of this shop he was there with his wife serving the ice cream. He said that he doesnt want to expand his shop and work for commercial.
So thats why he has his own family secret of real ice cream.

It took us a few minutes to find this place, since it's a tiny shop with no signs. But they serve some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Highly recommended.

We actually visited in July, but I'm only getting round to reviewing now. It is no exaggeration to say this simple and slightly brooding guy is a culinary legend. Actually, it's not really ice-cream, because not sure he uses milk. It's much more like sorbet, but far better than any sorbet or ice-cream I've ever had. He shops for the best fruits and ingredients to use and if he doesn't get them, he doesn't open! He had rose flavoured ice cream when we went and we simply could not have enough. We've all been craving for it ever since. We can almost taste it, but alas Beirut is soo far away..
