If you are looking for a peaceful, green spot in the hustle and bustle of the noicy, smoggy capitol, Park e Shahr is not a bad option. But don't spend hours getting there unless you have kids.
The "zoo" with the fake animals is somehow ridicolous when you are used to real zoos with living animals. The green areas are nice, but not impressive.
There is a kiosk selling decent icecream for no money.

It's a nice park with a bird zoo and a lot of atmosphere but do stay away from the teahouse / restaurant ("Sofre Khane Sonnat Sangalag") in the center of it: They bring you all kinds of things that you did not order and then charge it at very high prices!

located in the heart of downtown and after a few hours in Golestan Palace , National museum ,...you may go to Park e Shahr to have a tea or coffee for relaxation. a complex of birds garden , aquarium , library , gym area ,....and finally peace museum in the north part of the park . there is no remarkable item but generally recommended to visit mainly in hot weather of Tehran summer .

I currently live in Jordan and the situation vis-a-vis parks, gardens and green spaces here is quite diabolical. I thought I would see more of the same in Iran; however, the parks and gardens, especially in Tehran and Isfahan, were amazing. Public spaces that included beautiful gardens, walking tracks, cycling lanes, children's playgrounds, art and clean restroom facilities gave the city a very European feel and were a joy to walk through and rest in.

City park is one of 2 things that impressed me about Tehran. One is National museum, the other this park. Lovely, clean, green, with various birds. You have fountains to drink water and toilets there (for a small fee of 5000 rials).
Right in the middle of traffic and busy streets.

The most significant thing about this park is that it is located in the busiest and most polluted part of Tehran. Therefore, I consider it as the lungs of the neighborhood. I liked sitting in the quietness of the park and enjoyed watching beautiful birds, ostriches, and some other animals in this park as well.
