Tehran is a busy crowded and noisy city. This park is a quiet place to sit and relax or have a picnic like many seem to do.

This park has a central pond, large trees, a fountain and busts of famous local characters from history. A play area has table tennis, chess and even foosball tables. Elsewhere there are picnic tables. It is well-lit at night.

The best time for going to Mellat Park is Nowrouz (from the end of March to the beginning of April). There is an Egg statue exhibition and you can see some beautiful tulips at this time. There is a cinema (Mellat paradise) in this park.

Possibly the biggest park in Tehran, always good for a stroll, solo, with family or friends. Real taste of Tehran on spring and summer weekends.
