We heard so much about how wonderful Iran was that we always wanted to visit. We are independent travellers and thought that it would be too difficult to organise other than going in a group. How wrong were we!!! Mahtab at Iran Travelling Centre kept us updated on everything we wanted to do in Iran and offered us other suggestions. Having a meal with a local family in Shiraz was one such suggestion - we spent a lovely evening with Sara Asef and her lovely family. Our guide Omid was not only well informed on the history of Iran and the places we visited but had a wonderful sense of humour and introduced us to a number of delightful dishes. We spent 18 days travelling throughout Iran enjoying the amazing scenery, seeing the beautiful structures and buildings and being welcomed by the extremely friendly Iranians. We were often invited by locals to join their family for a meal. Iran should be on everyone’s “bucket list”. Highly recommend Mahtab as we were able to use WhatsApp and emails to sort out all the details of our travel.

I recently travelled with a group throughout Iran and visited various cities including Shiraz, Persepolis, Pasargadae, Yazd, Isfahan, Kashan and Tehran. Our guide was Mohammad Yousef Rostami, tel:+98 917 109 6987, rmohammadyousef@gmail.com, an archaeologist whose deep knowledge of Iran’s history and heritage made our travel experience to Iran so much richer and insightful. Yousef is a very dedicated professional with a great passion for his work, he is tireless, caring, gentle, extra generous with his time, providing a great sense of security to the group, making you feel at home with his genuine friendliness and going out of his way in every sense to accommodate the members of the group. Personally, I was looking for a particular type of calligraphy paper and he escorted me to several stores in order to find it. I would highly recommend yousef to anyone who wishes to have a wholistic travel experience in Iran. In addition, his tips to great restaurants, special shops, hang-out places and and other points of interest added a great value to our travel experience. We would definitely come back to explore more places and get to know better people of this fascinating country!

At first, I was a bit nervous traveling alone but all my research proved I would be ok. Mahtab was my liaison to the company. She answered every question on WhatsApp As an American, my itinerary was to be followed to the letter, so it was difficult to comprehend why I couldn’t change the simplest of things. I respectfully accept that I was a guest in this wonderful country. When my itinerary could be changed, Mahtab was on it. My 2 week itinerary had some difficulties for me. The first couple of days felt rushed to me. Kashan, with the beautiful roses, would have been a lovely city to take more time and relax, rather than rush through to the next site. From the jet lag, lengthy car rides, traffic and just down right uncomfortable beds, I wasn’t prepared. Mahtab came through with hotel upgrades when possible and handled all my concerns with professionalism. My guide, Ms Shahin, became my friend and confidante. She was very knowledgeable, being a retired Professor. I found our conversations came easy, very comfortable. Traveling in a sedan with manual gear shift with horrible traffic did cause me some extra back pain. In retrospect, I should have informed the agency of my issues before the trip. Maybe something could have changed. I intend to visit Iran again and take it a little slower. I need more time for the people, tea, bazaars. More time to hear the nightingales beautiful songs and smell the roses.

We just completed a wonderful two week tour of Iran with ITC Shiraz. Our travel agent Bahar was flexible in helping us plan our itinerary and dealing with all the complexities of organizing a tour for American travelers, and she did her best to accommodate some challenging requests. Our guide, Amir Khosro, was also flexible, patient, and very friendly - it felt like we were traveling with a friend.
