More for Iranians, handicrafts for foreign tourists

I think Eskan Tower handicraft shops (4 shops) can offer good choices for those tourists residing in nearby hotels. Also, they can change money since there certain exchange offices. They can also profit from café shops. Of course, there are other facilities such as different bank branches. We came here in January on a Thursday evening and it was not crowded.

Calm and Cozy
Jul 2015
The Eskan tower is one of the oldest resident tower in Tehran. There is a small shopping center at the ground floor of the building that you can find cafe, money exchange, and handicraft shops. There is a restaurant at the top flood named Eskan which is one of the oldest western restaurant in Terhan. There are 2-3 cafe at the lower level, which are really good spots for spending time and take a rest, or date.

Earthquake emergency shelter
Jul 2015 • Solo
Eskan Towers are a pre-revolution era lavish residential apartments with a Brutalist architecture popular at the time, and built during the Shah's reign for the upper class. At the dawn of the Islamic revolution the complex was finally completed. It has a lot of nostalgic memories associated with it and was considered the first lavish residential modern tower in Tehran along with A.S.P. and Park de Prince. Later on Eskan restaurant and coffee shops as well as high end boutiques offering luxurious goods in its small mall which were all added after the revolution added to its fame and popularity. The actual reason for Eskan's fame however and most importantly, is because it's one of the very few earthquake resistant structures in Tehran which was built before the revolution and according to American standards. Due to this fact alone is was considered a shelter during the Iran- Iraq war as well as natural disasters such as earthquakes. According to building codes, earthquake-resistant structures are intended to withstand the largest earthquake of a certain probability that is likely to occur at their location. This means the loss of life should be minimized by preventing collapse of the buildings for rare earthquakes while the loss of functionality should be limited for more frequent ones, and Eskan Towers is one of the very few high rises in Tehran and Iran built with such standard international codes in mind. Eskan Towers is one of the few officially designated earth quake shelters for Tehran. Having said all the aforementioned not a tourist attraction by any means but if you're a foreigner looking for a safe place, Eskan is certainly one of the few with international codes applied.

This place is not a sight
Jun 2015 • Family
This place is an old shoppingcenter with 5 or 6 exchange offices. Only visit if you need to exchange money or if you need extra memory cards , flash memo. hard drives or computer stuff cause the biggest computer shop in Tehran (Paytakht) is right in front of this place.
