I traveled to Iran for just under a month (May-June 22) and had great experience with Mike and the rest of the team.

My trip covered Golistan, Kurdistan and some remote Bakhtiari areas.

Farnaz and Mike were very quick to respond to my initial inquiry and went above and beyond to accommodate / create a unique itinerary based around the photography that I wanted to do.

We traveled overland the entire time (trains, buses, private car and trekking) which was an amazing experience. Mike joined me for the Golistan and Bakhtiari legs of the trip, which were unbelievable. He's a very well-traveled, absolutely lovely guy and added so much enjoyment my time in the country.

Majid guided the Kurdistan section of the trip and is also a great guy - for anyone with a particular interest in history and culture of these areas, I couldn't recommend him more.

Overall one of the best trips I've ever done and couldn't ask for more from a tour company. Finding people that are patient and open to trying taking the time to create a unique tour made a huge difference for me personally. Outside of days in the itinerary, Mike was insanely hospitable, having me over to his own place outside of Tehran and arranging for me to meet up with his friends when he was busy himself.

Looking forward to returning to Iran again later in the year to visit Balochistan, where I'll be booking these guys again :)

I was in Tehran teaching at a university for a month in 2010 and had a week of free time at the end. Can't remember how I found Mike, but I called him up and asked if he could accompany me on a hike on Mt. Damavand. He arranged to meet me and we drove out to Gazaneh to hike up the SE Ridge of Damavand. Since it was late April, it was too early in the season to hike to the summit. It turned into a beautiful 3-day hike up through cow pastures and finally up into summer sheep pastures complete with small stone shepherd huts. On day 2, we climbed up to the ridge top with expansive views of the Caspian Sea to the North and the Alborz Range to the South. Another night at our base camp in the sheep pastures and then on the 3rd day back to the car as we descended into the valley cloud.
It was a beautiful experience and Mike and I had a great time. He's a conscientious, friendly and expert guide. I hope to go back to Iran someday to do more with him.

Mike organized the most beautiful hiking trip I have ever been on. Having so much experience in organizing trips, he understood exactly what suited me having 2 days available. I hope I get the chance to hike in Iran again. I highly recommend Adventure Iran!

Hi Mike,

Thank you for arranging such a truly magical tour of just a part of your beautiful, diverse country.

From beginning to end, we were absolutely thrilled by the magnificent scenery and remarkable cities with their eye-catching monuments and superb mosques.

I’ve never eaten so well in my life or had the pleasure to taste the delicious seed-based drinks that quenched my thirst on a hot day.

Our accommodation was perfect everywhere we went, including the train journey from Shiraz to Tehran. Everyone we met was polite. It was such a pleasure to see families with small children travelling together in harmony.

The bazaars were a dream!

As already mentioned to you, Majid, our guide, was top class. I don’t think a better prepared or nicer guide can exist anywhere.

The travel arrangements from Rome to Tehran and inside Iran were perfect too including our driver, Hamid’s thoughtfulness ensuring our trip to Shemshak and airport drop-off were memorable.

As soon as I can get things on the home front in order, I’ll be looking at another of Adventure Iran’s tours. My friends are eager to join even though our climbing, skiing, camping days are over.

Once again, thank you for everything. I certainly feel rejuvenated.

I’ll be thanking your team on another occasion.

Enjoy your Friday.

Kindest regards.

Susan

We had the chance to book 2 tours with adventure Iran and we really like it.

1. A hike in the mountains in the north of Tehran: the landscape is really impressive. You are surrnounded by 4000 to 5000m high peaks, with snow at the top. And no one around you during the hike... it’s totally different from a hike in Europe.
With 2 very friendly guides to help us.

2. A two days tour in the desert of Luht near Kerman (if you go to Iran, this is a must do). The guides were exceptional and what can I say about the landscapes we saw... a once in a lifetime experience to camp in the desert without anyone around us... (the sound of desert... something so special).
And we finished the trip by a visit of a 4,000 years old village! Incredible...

I did the long trail through the Dena Protected Area in the Zagros with local guide MrTahmasebi and interpreter Mr Reza in June 2019. I can’t speak highly enough of the service from both of them - they both went out of their way to give me an interesting and comfortable experience. The walking is quite strenuous so it will best suit people that are fit and experienced in the mountains. Mr T knows every plant and animal in these mountains and even offered samples of a few things to try on the first day. The accommodation in local houses is clean, spacious and comfortable and the food was good in both quality and quantity. Highly recommended!

I went for a fantastic 2-day mountain bike tour north of Tehran, starting from Lavasan. My guide was great and knew the area by heart and was an expert mountain biker and coach. Great mountain biking trails, scenery and at the end of the day, great food! The whole team at Adventure Iran were super friendly, hospitable and helpful and a real pleasure to be with. I will be going back for a longer tour very soon.

We had an amazing trip with Adventure Iran. We trekked through the desert with Mike who organised such an interesting and fun few days. Everything was extremely well organised and we got to trek through some of the most expansive desert with such a well informed guide. A trip of a lifetime and would highly recommend adventure Iran.

We had an excellent 3-day tour organized with and by Adventure Iran from Esfahan to Yazd.
They understood what we wanted, added a few extra visits, and Mike was a very nice guide during the tour.
It's always nice visiting with small local agencies rather than big organized groups, so don't hesitate to contact them!
