Between Shahid Haghani metro station and Tabiat bridge. Well guarded after dark. Popular among sportive people during the day because the trees provide some shade which means it is relatively cool.

The park is named after Mahmoud Taleghani (1911-1979), a veteran of the Islamic resistance against the shah. He spent more than a decade in jail where he underwent some influence from leftists. He is known for his attempts to blend Shia and Marxist ideals.

The park is pretty quiet, filled with locals working out and going for walks, etc and there is a giant Iranian flag in the park. It is quite the oasis of calm in busy Tehran - particularly since there is a highway below the Tabiat bridge (which was built to span the Taleghani park as well as the Abo-Atash park on the other side). Very typical park otherwise.

We sat down on the grass for a while to talk before strolling over to the bridge. A welcome reprieve from the summer heat.
