this Mosque is nothing of the scale of the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, but nonetheless beautiful. The woman at the reception was very pleasant and helped my wife dress properly for the Mosque. What I didn't love about this was the somewhat required lecture on Islam. It wasn't exceedingly long, but there was the assumption that we didn't know anything about the faith.

I would have liked to learn more about the architecture and history of the mosque. Instead I got a 45min monologue on why Islam is the best and only religion in the world, including a lot of trashing of other cultures and religions. Avoid the tour and just take pictures if possible.

Visiting the mosque was a great experience. We had a very nice guide who explained about the mosque and about Islam; she was quite informative. The mosque is very impressive, inside and outside. There is a majlis where I was offered a date and a bottle of water. Everyone there is very kind. I highly recommend a visit here if you are in Bahrain.

Visited on a Monday just after mid day. Tours are held regularly, are free, and we only waited 5 minutes before there was an English speaking tour. Tour was approximately 30 minutes and was engaging and informative. You are taken through the courtyard and then the prayer room. In both rooms you get opportunities to take photos.
Good experience to see inside a mosque and get a good insight into Islam.
Make sure you check rules regarding what you can wear beforehand. Either way, the mosque supplies garments you can wear to cover your body.
Avoid Fridays as they don’t run any tours on that day due to prayers.

Magnificent and beautiful. This wonderful Mosque is a stunning set piece of Manama in Bahrain. Right in the thick of busy roads, shops, hotels and businesses. A wonderful tranquil big space with large car parking and area to walking around. Stunning pictures against a beautiful clear blue sky. Mosque offers visitor experiences and educational tours. A must see and visit while in Bahrain.

A guy called Magdy with perfect English gave my brother and I a quick tour inside earlier today. The mosque is stunning inside. If you are a woman make sure you dress conservatively - an abaya is also provided by the mosque if you need to borrow one to cover up.

There can not be a cost to visit a mosque as per Islam. Hence, the worship place it free to visit. However, one need to be respectful for the tradition.

Your review was really helpful, thank you.
What day did you do the tour please? I would imagine Fridays are not the best day due to worshipping.
Is there car parking too?
Thank you

We toured on Thursday... there is plenty of parking right outside . Most mosques do not allow tourism on Fridays as it is their main worship day
