A cool place to get an introduction to the Bahraini history: Dilmun artifacts, Islamic period artifacts, Bahraini customs and traditions. There was also an impressive (unfortunately temporary) exhibition of the Jurassic time period. Even the café was stylish and elegant (I can still remember the eggplant salad).

I had a great experience walking through this wonderful museum. I only spent a few hours, in the museum. But I did learn about the Dilmun, Tylos, and Awal civilizations, that came before Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fateh captured the island. You learn about the history of Islam in the country of Bahrain. You will also learn about the pearl industry, and how the copper and iron industry played a role in the country’s development and trade relations. On the Ground Floor, I really loved the maps on the floor. Bahrain isn’t a big country, and the map gives you great perspective of the country’s current layout. The displays on how the pearl industry with the boats, was great.

The staff, was very helpful, thank you!

The museum has evolved a lot from what it was in the past, and I hope that it will develop more in the coming days

Very good and detailed history of Bahrain. Well worth a visit to understand Bahrain. The exhibits were well spaced and the JURASSIC exhibit was very interesting. The parking was ample and easy. The trip was free due to the COVID times

Nice laid out Museum. Had a temporary exhibition from the Natural History Museum, London. It covered much of the Archaeological history of Bahrain.

I have 7hrs layover in Bahrain and I picked the National musuem to visit. It cost 7dinar taxi from the airport to the museum without the meter. (I later realised Uber is less than half the price of it). The reception at the musuem let me in early before the opening time. He even kindly gave me 1dinar when I didn't have enough cash in hand to get back to the airport. Thank you.
I spent 3.5 hours in the musuem incl. the cafe. There were lots to see if you are interested in their history. The architect of the building isn't that great like some would say.
