    A MUST when visiting Bahrain
I visited the museum while on a day tour of Bahrain. It is a must. It was actually one of the highlights of my tour. It is a beautiful museum that provides a very well organized history of the country and its people. Helpful, interesting, beautiful, and enjoyable.

    Beautiful and interesting museum
This is a must place to visit in Bahrain if you want immerse yourself into Bahraini culture, understand the history and development of this nation and just see the beautiful and genuine pieces of art. There is also a beautiful part where you can see the scenes of Bahraini life and see the mannequins in traditional clothes which is interesting , particularly for kids. Also they have a very beautiful collection of old Quran books . The staff is very friendly and like most of attractions in Bahrain it is free of charge.

Stunning building with well curated exhibits
The show starts outside with an interesting building and use of the sea. Interspersed with contemporary art the Bahraini 'new' is much in evidence on the approach to the museum. The entrance was sparse with a few items highlighted and I was at first a little confused although the floor map of Bahrain is magnificent. However once I discovered my way I had a wonderful time and learned so much about this fascinating island kingdom and its peoples traditions. The museum is clean and very comfortable as an addition. The cafe is very comfortable and reasonably priced. The gift shop was basic but not overtly money-grabby. I liked it. There are also boat trips to historical points of interest available to purchase from the entrance to the museum. I would also recommend these, they are operated by Captains Corner.

Highly recommended to visit this attraction!
Entrance fee here is about 3 US $, payable by credit card only. There is a toilet area on the left side that is discretely covered by a wall. On the left side are photos and explanations of Pope Francis’s visit of Manama. There is a vintage car on display near this area. Other items on display are various korans, Dilmum mounds and clay pots used to bury the dead, exhibits of lifestyles of Bahrain people from birth to various stages of life. Mannequins in colorful attires were used for these displays. Note that there are 2 floors of exhibits. An elevator is available to go to the upper floor. Outside area: There are sculptures on display here. Excellent photo area here!

    A must do
This is a must do when visiting Bahrain. It is a stunning building in lovely surroundings - with works of art dotted around the outside. The displays do not disappoint either, from the map on the floor as you walk into the foyer to the the many exhibitions - all are most informative & well presented. It gives you a good insight to the local culture of Bahrain. The coffee shop is good too with lovely seating outside in the shade.

    Small but interesting
Definitely worth a visit, when in town. A lot of Info about the history of Bahrain and the region with many documents and archeological finds. The museum is interesting, but not too large, a visit takes about 45 minutes.

    Bahrain National Museum
The Bahrain National Museum offers a glimpse into the rich history of the country, making it a must-visit destination. However, some visitors may find it a bit lacking in interactive elements, making the experience slightly monotonous. Despite this, the museum's cultural treasures and informative exhibits make it an essential stop for those seeking to understand Bahrain's heritage.

The visit to Bahrain Museum was one of the highlight of our Bahrain Tour. Entry is 2.20BHD payable only by card. The museum offers an insight about Bahrain's cultural and social life. Also, some interesting facts about Dilmun Graves are worth checking. Highly recommended!

Excellent architecture with some really good art
Thoughtfully designed and aesthetically pleasing building housing some excellent art. If you like self reflection through art take your time here and you’ll have a lovely experience. The whole floor is also a map. Several rooms also provide an excellent insight into the early history of Bahrain

Very good! Highly recommend. Easy to navigate. Beautiful and very clean building. Just the right amount of information so you don't feel overloaded. The display boards are in English and Arabic. I learnt a lot about the history and traditions of Bahrain. On the floor as you enter, there is also an art exhibition from artists in the region. I really enjoyed it. Great cultural experience. Highly recommend.

This is a delightful surprise for a national museum. Currently there’s a fabulous Bahrain art exhibit at both twin sites of the national museum and the adjoining theatre. Once inside there’s so many exhibits to choose from. The dinosaur exhibit was particularly nice with great videos. A pleasure to see!

Museum is very spacious but I felt it wasn’t very interactive and required a lot of reading to spread its information.

Costs 1.5 BD for entry.

Has a nice coffee store and really nice outdoor area where you can take some good photos of the skyline.

One of the places you shall visit while you are in Bahrain.
We had our tour with Ishtar Gate Tour and the guide recommended us to visit the museum ( it wasn't in our tour list).
it was the best attraction were you understand every thing about Bahrain In detail.

After reading the negative and not-impressed reviews, I went to visit the museum with a dosis of skepticism. Wow!!!!., it was beautiful. I invested almost three hours of my time, and next weekend I’m going back for more. The best 1.50 BDs invested! CONGRATULATIONS to Bahrain for building such a wonderful museum for the world to enjoy (not just the building, but the content as well).

A beautiful architectural museum. Looks big on the outside but, inside has limited but concise exhibition compared to other museums i have been to. Typical time spent half day. The museum has 7 small exhibitions that explains the history of Bahrain from its conception as a country to present day. The exhibit highlights the main aspects of Bahrain life. It’s important to note the whole of Bahrain is a historical site and there are ancient ruins being discovered within the city. The museum does its best to encompass centuries of history in a summary that is comprehensive. Worth a visit if you like history.

A visit to the Bahrain Museum is a great way to understand how today's Bahrain came to be. It's a well designed museum with plenty of history on display. I found the exhibit of the Dilmuns particularly insightful which helped put our later visits to the burial mounds into context. The gift shop is small but classy and a great place to pick up a quality souvenir. Well worth a visit!

In contrast to many museums that are either poorly labelled or lack any meaningful theme (or both), the National Museum is a compact exhibition of artifacts, materials and ethnographic materials aimed at providing a historical and anthropological overview of Bahrain - and it does a great job. There are six galleries with good lighting, plush interiors and well maintained displays. Everything is labelled clearly in English and care seems to have been taken in the order of displays. The building itself is airy and modern though a somewhat long walk if reached by bus. Expect to spend 2-3 hours. The gift shop was somewhat limited.

There is an aerial view of Bahrain on the floor of the museum, the only map in town. Take the boat trip across to the remains of the Bu Maher Fort, about 10-15 mins. Cost about 2.2 BHD per person. No charge to go into the museum.
