Kids loved it but the outside ride was out of service, a number of rides inside were out of action; the wave ride was a disappointment because they turned it on and then off within a minute and didn’t turn it back on again. The jacuzzi was cold but overall had a Fun day out even if expensive. Once a year is enough but Abu Dhabi Yas water park is way better.

First of all, what is "culturally appropriate swimwear"? There were no clear guidelines on their website and the photos didn't show any women (except paid models), which left me wondering if my conservative (by US Standards), one-piece suit would be acceptable. TripAdvisor didn't help me here, either, so let me answer this question.

When we arrived on a weekday evening, I was the ONLY woman in a bathing suit at the waterpark. All the other women in the pool (including teenage girls) were wearing full-length burquinis or street clothing with head scarves. Many local women stay out of the pool and let their husbands play with the kids. Note that there are requirements for adult supervision, depending on number and age of the children, so you can't just drop off the kids and go shopping (see their website).

I felt quite out of place and debated whether or not to take off my cover-up, but my 3-year old daughter begged me to come in the pool. Besides, I didn't want to pay 10 BD and not get wet! No one asked me to cover up and I didn't get any rude stares (it's obvious that I'm from a western country with my freckled, fair skin), but I did feel exposed. About 45 minutes later, a few other European women arrived wearing swim suits, including one young woman in a bikini top with jean shorts.

Here's my take: one-piece swim suits are acceptable for women, but I'd recommend a rash guard and surf shorts, the looser and longer, the better. Little girls can wear whatever they like (don't forget a swim diaper if they are under three!). Men and boys can wear swim trunks without a shirt or rash guard. I'd advise against speedos.

My three-year old had so much fun! There are two shallow children's pools, including one with fountains, that very small children will like, but my daughter quickly moved to the wave pool. Some small children were frightened when the waves started (every thirty minutes) but my daughter loved it as long as we were right next to her. Young children are required to wear a life jacket, which are provided free-of-charge, and my daughter didn't mind wearing it at all. She was also able to go on the red slides, just outside in the lagoon, by herself (we caught her at the bottom) and the green and yellow slides called splish splash near the entrance along with my husband. There are height guidelines, but the life guards leave it up to parents whether or not your child can go on a slide. The lazy river was fun for all of us. The water is heated and temperature inside is comfortable, but my daughter still got cold after about an hour. The weather outside is still mild, so I bet it's the perfect place to be during the summer.

I felt there were an adequate number of life guards on duty and they were very attentive and friendly. The restrooms, showers and changing rooms were pretty clean. There are hair dryers in the women's restrooms, too. We did not eat inside (grab a bite at the food court before you enter). We brought our own towels, but you can rent towels there (1.9 BD). We did pay the fee for a family locker (2.7 BD), which was large enough for all our shoes, clothes, purse and backpack. Access the locker with your wristband. Many families just loaded up their stroller and parked it next to the chairs by the pools.

Keep it as a half day activity as you are visting the city centre mall.
Even if you are not prepared for the visit you can get the swim wear from wahoo or other shops in the mall.
The entry ticket costs $35 and $25 for kids and you can get it discounted by 50% if you will by the entertainment book of bahrain from "carefor" city centre.
Do it !!!!👍

I was in a vacation at that time last 13th of August 2018. Me and my gf decided to spend my birthday and have a swim in wahoo. We enjoyed our getaway there. Suddenly,my wristband failed to open our locker and we ask the security assistance if they could open it for us. It was around 5:30pm I think. One security from India (if I am not mistaken) approach us and took both our wristband and tried to open the locker but it was not working. He returned back the wristband of my gf since it was not the one which was registered to access the locker since I used my wristband for it. He brought with him my wristband and when he came back he have with him a card and ask us what are the items inside the locker and we explained him what was inside of it and he successfully opened the locker. I don't remember that he handed me back my wristband. Me and my gf fix our self and took a shower in each toilet of wahoo and when we finished we was on our way to go outside of the wahoo until on our way out, one of the security vdestroyed it. Since, It was our first time to visit the place, we don't know the system yet and we was not thinking about the wristband that it needs to be returned back after. On our way out, one of the lady guard from Philippined ask my gf telling 'Ma'am,where is your wristband? ' my gf said ''i don't know'' and that lady guard said '' u must to pay 2bd for that if you lose it". My gf told me about it that if we won't be able to give it back we must pay 2bd for each wristband since it is according to wahoo policy , so we tried to find it.. my gf was able to find her wristband but I was not able to find it and also I don't remember that that Indian security gave it back to me . So,I told him that it was with u... And I explained him that he assisted us before to open the locker but he forget to give back the wristband back to me. He was insisting the he gave it back to me, and I also stand for my part that I guarantee him that he didn't gave it with me. He didn't even realize that his voice was getting loud and that triggers me to add volume with my voice . The security even told me in a sarcastic manner ''there is CCTV,we can check and u can see that I gave it back to u'' so I told him, okay check CCTV.. and that security guard answered me in a sarcastic manner again telling me that ''okay,if we check in camera and I gave it back to you ,then you must to pay me double for taking my time, for loosing my time'' for this,I understand 2bd or 4bd is too small amount. But it is not about the money which I need to pay if ever... I can even triple it . But,it was about the attitude which your staff had showed me and my gf how he handles the situation was so rude. At that time, when my gf heared it. She got so,upset and ask him,is that the kind of hospitality you are giving to your customer here??? After that, one guy from that counter he was wearing white shirt approach us. I explained him everything that that security was telling me that he returned back the wristband which is missing as I don't remember that he even gave it to me. So,that gentleman wearing white said,we will check the CCTV. So,me and my gf waited outside . And with disappointments that gentleman who was wearing the white shirt told me that ''we didn't check the camera, but we will let you to pass'' I even ask him to call the person whom I can spoke into to fix and check if that security really handed me the wirstband but he don't want me to talk to the authorized person for this . I am not stupid. I am 100 % sure that they did check the camera. If I was wrong,I will pay,I don't have any issues. But how your staff treated us was really such a disappointment. Now,I wanted to bring this up to the management,so that this kind of scenario won't happen again nextime... Your security needs a lot of training when handling a guest. I hope, that you will investigate this things,as I am really upset about the said scenario as I was on my vacation at that time.

The concept is good and the facilities are good but the water was dirty. The idea of people taking a shower before entering the pool does not seem to be popular here, even the concept of wearing swimming costumes seemed to be a novelty for some as there were some people swimming in regular shorts and t-shirts. All this combine to make the water dirty. I was unwell for 2 days afterwards and my daughter had 2 days off school. Will not be going back unless I can be sure they have done something to keep the water clean.

Wahoo waterpark is located on the top floor of Bahrain's City Centre Mall and is the largest temperature controlled waterpark in the region. We always get there early when it opens at 11.00am and really have the place to ourselves! There are lots of slides (the Black Hole is a must), chutes plus a lazy river, mat racer etc.. but best of all is the Flow rider...the only one in Bahrain. The great thing about Wahoo is that it doesn't close for winter as it's temperature controlled; it's a warm 30 degrees C all year round. Kids of all ages will enjoy it, especially the younger ones who will play for hours in the Rain Fortress where they are guaranteed to get soaked! There are sun loungers if you simply want to get a tan!
